Does anyone know what could it mean to get a ghost update 10 days after taking the test but nothing changed, test is still showing in progress, asking for a friend.
Most probably, one of your application stages got passed or it could be ADR.. If you don't receive ADR in 2-3 days after ghost update, then it is related to passing of one of the application stages.

I think things are just random, depending on the officers handling our files. Many of us didn’t receive this ADR, even though we didn’t upload all the pages. At first, I thought it had something to do with some of the Spanish entry/exit stamps I have. Some people are even receiving biometric requests, while others are not.

I’m now waiting for my passport stamps to be translated. If there had been any mention of the need for translation, I would’ve done it and uploaded them earlier. I thought I had missed something, but it seems like everything is just random.
Yes.. I think every application is processed randomly. But I also didn't upload all the pages of the passport. Let's see and wait.. But they also asked me to give Fingerprints randomly.. Even though I had given them in the past as well..

Hello All,
I know we are supposed to wait, but has anyone or anyone they know of reached out to an MPP to fast track their application successfully?
I have a job offer in jeopardy because I don't hold a US visa/Citizenship, and I am kicking myself now.
Very unlikely a request to a member of parliament is going to have any impact - especially for a citizenship app that is still well within the estimated timeframe.

You can consider making a request to IRCC for urgent processing. It may or may not work / be accepted. If your application is simple and no special security checks etc needed, I think it's possible it would be faster to just leave it.

2 rounds of interviews in at a dream company and citizenship is suddenly a requirement...guess its not meant to be!

Include your job letter in the web form and write a detailed explanation letter on how you meet all the job offer requirements, and only missing requirement is the citizenship application, As per my old link, your request would fall under this "
  • the applicants are Canadian citizens and face loss of employment or of employment opportunity because they are not in possession of a document establishing Canadian citizenship
So, there is a high probability that they will fast-track your application if you already have an offer letter. After submitting the webform, call the IRCC Client Centre and ask them to leave a note for the officer to check your urgent processing request. In most cases, the officer will need to respond to these requests within 7-30 days (from what I have heard). Try everything you can, and hopefully it works out in your favour.. Good luck..:)

Is it normal to receive a Fingerprint request for a citizenship application? Is it a general letter, as they mentioned that they are requesting FP due to concerns with sections 21 or 22 of the Citizenship Act? I never had any record or anything, not sure why they requested it.
This is probably more likely if you have a common name. What probably happened is that someone with the same name and birth date (or perhaps using your name as a nickname - think of you being named "Fred Brown" and then a "Frederick Brown" who sometimes also goes by Fred) has a record that got flagged in the system.

Section 21 outlines that periods of probation, parole, or imprisonment cannot be counted towards the physical presence requirement for citizenship. Section 22 prohibits granting citizenship or the oath of citizenship to individuals who are under a probation order, paroled, serving a sentence of imprisonment, or facing certain criminal charges. See https://www.donvalleylegal.ca/blog/... eligible, criminal charges and/or convictions: for details but basically if one were flagged under section 22 then the app would be refused for that person while being flagged under 21 would just mean that some periods of time can't be counted for the app (which might still result in a refusal for that person if that person either misrepresented on the app regarding those periods of time in a material way, or if without those periods the physical presence requirement is not met - so a refusal is still likely but the app has got a slim chance of still making it through).

But my guess is that they are just doing the perfunctory FP request to confirm that the person flagged in the records is in fact not you but a completely different person.

Any chance of applying for and getting that US visa? I know it's gotten tougher over the past half year but is it still a possibility that a visa may come through in time? US visas can also be requested on an expedited basis: https://usvisaappt.com/visa/page?country=BE&apiPageName=expeditedAppointments&locale=en
Thank you for the link, but I don't think travelling for work would be allowed on a B1/B2 visitor visa, which would rule out the eligibility mentioned.

I will most likely try this, once the offer is on the table. Thank you!

What do you mean by "traveling for work" ? I mentioned this because you originally wrote

Which implies that there is some US visa that exists that would help your situation.

The rules about expediting are more general, so if you are eligible for a different lettered visa for some work related purpose then it may still be worth pursing getting that visa and getting it expedited.

Although, as per https://www.neweraimmigration.com/business-visitors-b-1-b-2-visa.html traveling for business is allowed on a B1 visa. In fact it's B2 that's the temporary visitor visa while B1 is a temporary business visa as per that website. The webpage details specific examples that qualify, so it might be worth checking to see if your "traveling for work" fits under one of those categories and a B1 would actually work.

Presumably means undertaking actual employment with a US company (for which Canadian citizenship may work using NAFTA (and its redheaded-stepchild mutant offspring CUSMA) rules.

Perhaps. Worth pointing out that from https://www.tradecommissioner.gc.ca...uide-canadian-businesses/business-travel.html (specifically 6.2.1. ) the NAFTA B-1 business visitor classification seems to cover the same activities that an actual B-1 visa would cover, but neither covers undertaking actual employment with a US company.

The other categories actually require a Canadian citizen to apply for a visa. Actually I'm not aware of a US version of an open work visa - basically all visas that allow you to work in the US like this are tied to an employer, meaning that you'd need the offer first, you wouldn't be able to apply for the job with a relevant US visa already in hand.

Alas, if this is the case, then I also agree with this:
<Urgent processing request> *Sends US offer letter*
<IRCC officer in urgent processing depart> *hmm, this looks more like a file for non-routine processing not urgent processing* *bump to non-routine*

That is, I think it's unlikely that OP will get urgent processing from IRCC for this situation (as compared to having an offer letter from a Canadian company that just happens to have a lot of US-based clients).
