I am a PR holder and working in an IT firm in Canada for the past 3 plus years. I recently got married about a month ago and applied visitor visa for my wife to spend some time together in Canada however it was refused. Reasons were insufficient funds for her stay, significant ties in canada, no significant ties outside canada.

I showed 40k cad funds from side and about 15k cad funds from her side for about 4 weeks stay. She works in a IT firm in India.

Strange the officer still decided to reject visa.

Has anyone recently applied visitor visa for their spouse after marriage looking for some advice on how to proceed further.

any help is appreciated thanks

It is not strange at all - married to for a month to Canadian PR and wants to just visit with her only family in Canada. So if you are PR then sponsor her to come to Canada. Her family (you) is in Canada so IRCC doesn't believe she is just coming to visit. IRCC figures she will "visit" and they you will apply inland. You are her only family tie and you just got married so start sponsorship. No sense in reapplying until you have applied for PR and received AOR. Then apply for TRV again.

I also applied for Sponsorship application first and when got the AOR, mentioned it in the TRV and got approved in 20 days as my husband also had previous refusal. In the five years of our relationship, we only have been together for 5 months. So, we explained it in the letter properly about our situation.

Can you please let me know the reason why your husband's initial visa got rejected , what reason did they provide. I am also facing a similar situation. Did it get approved after you submitted your TRV again after AOR ?

So when I applied for the first time for my husband's TRV, I was actually on work visa and I was also not married to him. We were just in a relationship. And he also hadn't had any status there in Australia. So we just thought to give it a try. And then now I applied it after getting the AOR. So yeah, he got the visa in like 20 days.
