Finally received eCOPR this morning after 35 months of processing
Do you know when security check started for your case?
My parents' case is in security check, criminal check and review eligibility since Oct 2023. The rest are done. And medical exam will expire on July 2024.
My MIL was transferred and processed in London IRCC, was approved.ECOPR issued from Etobicoke last week.
Why it takes so long?
Do you know what is the average waiting time for security check?
Bad luck and I am not sure how long it will take. I guess the normal background check should be less than a few months.
My application has a similar timeline. Only security screening pending and rest is all done. Since my eligibility was passed in October 2023, I believe my security screening was started at the same time. Medical expiring in July 2024.
I applied on December 6, 2021 so this means my application is in its 28th month of processing.
Have you called the call centre? Agents should know if the criminality is done, and security.
I called IRCC on Feb 2024, and they said all of them are in process. I will try to call them every month.
the timeline is in the following:
Feb 28, 2023: Biometrics
March 2, 2023: Sponsor eligibility approved
March 17, 2023: Police certificate, IMM5546 (detail of military service), certificate of veteran, current address
July 17, 2023: Medical request
Aug 2 to Oct 19, 2023: additional medical exam (sputum culture and lung X ray)
Oct 20, 2023: Medical exam passed
Oct 26, 2023: more detailed resume and current address request and submitted on the same day
Dec 12, 2023: called IRCC and they said the process of our case is in background checking and reviewing eligibility.

Your security screening will probably take longer than usual since your parent worked for military.
My dad had three years of military services (stand guard every day) more than 50 years ago. And then he worked at a normal company for almost 40 years until his retirement.
Got medical and pcc yesterday, Vancouver office. Last i heard from them was in june 2022.
