Hi guys. Does anybody have a sample what does AOR look like? I am PR in Canada and about week ago submitted inland application for common law sponsorship for my gf.
Today received email from IRCC that our application has been received and there is also UCI and Application number on that email.
Is that enough to submit application for open work permit? Cheers
Can I ask about the specific date on which you submitted your sponsorship application?

I got the UCI and application number, but I'm not being able to link it to the GCKey. Anyone had the same issue?

We received our AOR via the sponsorship email with an application number and UCI, but can't link through the IRCC portal (yet).

I was able to link my application to my account (PA). I used the Application Number (Fxxxxxxxx) and the principal applicant's Family Name when I did it.

Please note that when answering the last question "Number of family members, including the primary applicant, that are part of this application", you should put 2. Details can be found here:

Thanks for all the tips, I was able to link it successfully.

Also, applied today for the SOWP, waiting for this second AOR now

Hi, everyone!

I am looking for some advice about my Inland Spousal Sponsorship in Canada Class.

I have been married to a Canadian citizen since May 2021. I have been residing in Canada out-of-status since 2010.

My fear is that once I submit my application, IRCC will be notified about my existence and detain me while my application is resolved? Will my lack of status be a reason that the application might be denied? I must write a letter of explanation about why I overstayed my visitor visa, however, I am not sure it that will be a sufficient explanation for breaking the law. I have no idea if I have a Deportation order issued in my name, in that case my spousal sponsorship application will not be successful,

Any advice is welcomed as these fears are preventing me from submitting my application.

Overstay is ok for a sponsorship application, you won't be able to apply for a SOWP while the process is going on.

But the overstay itself will be forgiven as long as you are totally honest about it during the application, and there is no removal order or any other immigration violations in the past

Did you upload the IMM5707 form in your SOWP application?

I read the instructions on the IRCC website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/spouse-partner-children/spouse-common-law-partner-canada-open-work-permit.html), which stated that it is necessary to upload both the IMM5707 form and the marriage certificate. However, I am unable to locate the upload section in my IRCC GCKey account. There are only upload buttons available for the following documents:
  • IMM 5710 (Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker)
  • Passport
  • Proof of upfront medical exam
  • Digital photo
  • IMM5257 (Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada)
  • Client Information

Do you have any guidance on where to upload the IMM5707 and marriage certificate?

I'm having the same 'issue'. Seemingly everywhere it is mentioned that IMM5707 will need to be uploaded with IMM5710, but no matter how I respond to the questionnaire on the IRCC account - it won't show up for me in the doc checklist, nor give me a field to upload it in... Any suggestions appreciated!

Hello everyone,

Submitted - 14th Jan
AOR - 3rd Feb

My question is I did not received biometric request yet but when I linked my application with GC key it is showing my previous biometric information which I gave at the time of my study permit. Does this means my IRCC accepted my old biometrics ? or I will still be getting request for new biometrics. I am curious because the information on cic page shows "you still need to give biometrics for PR if previously gave for temporary residence and are still valid".

Hi guys, if you could please help me with something I’d appreciate it.

I’ve arrived to Canada with a visitor/student visa. My visa expires on 23rd of February, 2024.

We’ve applied for an in-land family sponsorship application and we’ve received our AOR. We are now applying for a work permit.

As you know work permit takes time. I don’t expect it to arrive before my temporary visa expires. My question is, what happens when my temporary visa expires and I lose my legal status in the country? Does this affect my PR application? Do I have to take action before my temporary visa expires? If so, what are the steps? Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Kind regards,
Applying for the work permit gives you legal status to remain, as long as you apply before your TRV expires. So I would make every effort to apply for the work permit ASAP.
