Spoousal Sponsorship - proof of Citizenship application showed up in GC Key. I did not apply

Hello, i am not sure if anyone could help me understand this.
I have Spousal Sponsorship application in process and my eligibility started almost month ago in PR tracker. I am Canadian Citizen living out of Canada and i have sponsored my wife. I have been getting Ghost Updates, but today i noticed in my GC Key account in the section where it says "Continue An Application You Have Not Submitted", i see there is a proof of Citizenship/Search of citizenship records application pending with option to delete or continue the application. I have not created this.

Is this created by an Immigration Officer? My wife's file is in process at NDVO.

I have not received any email notification that they require my proof of citizenship. I only submitted copy of my Canaduan Passport with the application.

Is it a wise idea to submit Citizen Certificate that i had received during my oath back in 2012?

Can i upload it through submit document section in GC Key?

Please help. I don't want my application to be delayed further.

Not seen this here ever but with changes in portals, new things come up; would make sense if IRCC was checking their own records (using ahem their own database) but otherwise no idea, or why you would need to do anything. Probably cannot hurt to submit copy of citizenship certificate but only a guess. Good luck.

I just submitted the Proof of Citizenship through webform as soon as i saw this application popped up. I am just curious if i already have submitted copy of my Canadian Passport, would not this proove that i am Canadian citizen?
Even if they needed to see proof of citizenshio then why would not they request one? Rather than creating an application under my account. Just it does not make sense at all. The application date created is Sep 26, 2022 and my file is under eligibility progress since Aug 29.

My guess is that this is an internal task for someone to check and not for you to respond, and that the portal has (erroneously or unintentionally) 'exposed' this part of the process to you. Only a guess though.

I will just leave this as it is and just keep an eye on it. My fingers are crossed for Pre arrival and PPR.

Can they not trace this in their system by my passport number?

The application in the account is in not submitted section waiting to be continued and it has 54 days left to complete.

As noted, I'm only guessing. I presume they can search quickly. I believe the normal outside proof of citizenship (i.e. issue certificate) is mostly for those who have never had citizenship record (i.e. someone born in Canada who's never applied for even a passport). But again - only a guess.

Apart from that: I've no idea. Repeat, my guess is that this is a formal process internally that just requires someone to actually do it. Why a separate note to file? Possibly something as simple as a workflow assignment (done by an assistant but must be an assistant with access and knowledge of system, privacy clearance).
