    I just received my notes: A34 Comprehensive check submitted to CBSA April 2025. Status is In Progress by CBSA since July 2025. Does anyone know what timeline I should expect? It has already been 1+ year since I submitted my application.

    From what I understand, this specific ADR + "Background verification status has been updated to In progress" indicate a comprehensive background check. See my timeline in my signature. Bonne chance :)

    Can be for other reasons. Nationality / education / work history / etc. No one knows the exact formula but it doesn't have to be exclusively military or government background.

    Makes sense, thank you. I tried searching a lot online for similar cases but I couldn't find anything. I want to set appropriate expectations so I can plan my life for the next 2-3 years.

    I was under comprehensive security check for my study permit for 2 years until I withdrew my application and applied for PR. I applied for PR and now under comprehensive check again for 5 months. Should I expect another 2 years? Will whatever checking they did for 2 years during my study permit...

    Honestly idk why people aren't honest but this alone means 99% comprehensive check. You will get this line in your tracker pretty soon. Good luck

    I submitted the ADR April 24th. April 28th I got a message on the tracker that Background verification status has been updated to In progress. Nothing since then.
