    I think it depends on where you are too. It seems the in-person ones are becoming more frequent and popular in the GTA. If you're in a more remote location, virtual may be more likely.

    They invite you. If you're invited to an in-person one, you have the option to request a virtual appointment instead by email.

    I just took the oath and need to apply for my passport in the next few days. I have a trip coming up in early July so time is a factor. If it helps, I can let you know how it goes.

    Thanks. :) They gave me the paper certificate at the ceremony. I think I actually selected e-certificate when I applied back in January but I've heard nothing about an e-certificate so far.

    A couple of weeks ago, I was like a lot of people in this thread. An early January applicant and worried about my file taking too long. Now I'm scheduled to take the oath next Thursday and that's after a likely unnecessary home country PCC request, an FP request and a file sent for processing...

    You may have to prove you did your best to settle and find suitable opportunities there before relocating to another province but 9-10 month of time should be long enough to have done that in the event anyone ever questions it.

    There aren't any ceremonies in Sauga during May unless I'm mistaken. I can't find any listed on the website anyway.

    Mine is the 29th so it's a Thursday and although the calendar on the website doesn't go that far yet, I'm not seeing anything scheduled for Thursday May 23rd. A few of us on here seem to have been scheduled for the 29th from the looks of it.

    True that and especially since most immigration in recent years has come from one or two countries who value a Canadian passport as a strong factor in their reasons to move here. Citizenship application ratios may be higher over the next few years than they have been in the past.

    It is but because I need to travel approx. 6 weeks after the ceremony, I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary delays, even if they end up costing me a little more. Normally I wouldn't be too fussed but it's just a timing thing on this occasion really.
