Just got my Oath ceremony scheduled.

I'm a March 2020 Applicant, reading this forum, I saw one of you guys sent an email to the Scarborough Office and asking them if they had an empty spot for an oath ceremony. Seeing that it worked for them, I said why not try it myself.

So Friday night I sent them this email
"I was wondering if your office has any empty spot available for the oath scheduling, it is only me on the application. I am turning 23 in a couple of weeks and that would be a great gift to be Officially Canadian or at least know that I am scheduled to be one soon.

I applied for a grant of citizenship in March 2020. I passed my test in November 2021, and the tracker was updated to Decision Made in December 2021, and I have not had an update since."

And Boom! At noon today, they sent me confirmation and they scheduled me for an oath on my birthday.
My Oath is in 12 days.
Wow! This is so heart-warming.
Happy birthday!

Hi, good to hear that you have a schedule for your oath already. We almost have the same timeline. May I know which email you used to contact them?
Thank you! Congrats, by the way!

Congrats but this shouldn’t be the way they send oath schedule. My oath scheduled back in Nov for late March and seeing many people sending email and getting their oath schedule sooner makes me to do the same thing. If there are spots, they should fill it based on a queue system not randomly or based on individual requests.

Agree with you. The system is broken, it's been broken. But if a few of us find a way to slip through the cracks, we gotta take it. So I'll encourage anyone to do the same, and send them an email. What do you got to lose?

Congrats on your Oath scheduling btw!

Totally agree with you. In my case, I got DM in July 2021 but have not even been scheduled for the oath ceremony as of today. :(

I don't even have any help from my MP! They don't answer emails, and don't get back to my voicemails. So ridiculous.

I have also emailed the office of the Minister of Immigration Sean Fraser. In the email I explained how webforms are not being answered and how they don't answer the phone etc etc. I explained how 2021 applicants are getting their citizenship lightning fast and how 2020 and 2019 applicants are not. After 7 weeks they emailed me back and said "try a webform". What a joke.
This is really upsetting. I hope they help you soon. I can tell you that using web forms is the best way to reach out to them, if you have an urgent need, they will act upon right away.

Yesterday after reading this post, I just sent a web form and got helped the same day. I actually sent two webforms because there are two different websites in the IRCC site that are for webforms. Try as well . Hope this helps

Ok this is a person that applied back early 2020, how are you even making this comment on him getting the invite sooner than you did.... no need really. Congrats to the dude and move on...

Oh thank you so much.I am relaxing now
I traveled weekly almost 40 weeks out of the year mainly to the US. Records are inconsistent on the border crossing so that flagged my application. To me some of the cbsa records were wrong or duplicated.

My colleague had over 40 international trips to different locations but US mostly, she got her citizenship in 9 months. 2021 March applicant.
Does travelling overseas to other countries frequently (not US) affects the processing time for background check?
