CEC Inland (dependent outland UK when we applied but currently in Canada)
Medicals re-passed on portal July 2021 and silence since...

We were told that medicals was the last bit and our application should be close to completion. Inland applications are supposed to be prioritised and it's frustrating that 2021 applications are being processed so quickly. Really struggling with mental health as we're in limbo, back on implied status waiting for my 2nd BOWP to be processed and visitor visa extension for my dependent. Waiting for GCMS notes too.

Even with COVID delays and if we were put through enhanced screening 20 months is feeling excessive.

There is an option to submit feedback/complaints to IRCC but I'm hesitant to do this incase it hinders our application further?

@legalfalcon or anyone have any advice? We've been through our MPs office a few times, no extra info available.

We've come so far that withdrawing and resubmitting doesn't feel right. Everything has expired so we've have to do medicals and English tests again.

I was hoping to get home to visit family in the UK as it's been 2 years now but can't with no status and variant isn't helping the situation.
You are not the only person who is facing this issue, and there are a lot of other applicants in the same boat. IRCC is sending our PPRs and portal emails, you just have to wait it out.

There is no way to expedite the process.

You can submit feedback or a complaint against IRCC using this link https://secure.cic.gc.ca/feedback-retroaction/feedback-retroaction-eng.aspx

However, nothing much will happen, and even if you do submit a complaint, it will have no impact on the processing of your application.

You are not going to do IELTS again, you may be requested to do your medicals again. DO not worry too much. My IELTs was 2months to expiry when I received an invitation to apply in February 2020, we have finally received our VISA letter for COPR on 9th November 2021.

You have come far already, chill a little more.

Hi, it's good to see someone from Australia get PPR, congratulations. I am also here. May I ask if you were CEC or FSW?

Hi all,
First, I am grateful for this forum. Thank you all! It is the one thing that has been helpful during this trying time of endless wait without any reasonable justification from IRCC.

I am CEC (inland) AOR Mar 4 2020. Like some of the others on this forum, my application is stuck and the Webform responses are generic messages. I called IRCC few times and the agents told me that my application is "waiting to be finalized". When I asked agents say that it means it is waiting for a visa officer to finalize the application (whatever that means). The application has been "waiting to be finalized" for at least six months when I first called IRCC.

My life situation is difficult as it is and this indefinite wait is making it much worse.

I have reached out to my MP, they said they'll reach out to IRCC to get an update but I am not sure if IRCC will give them a generic reply too. I also reached out to the minister of immigration but got a vague automated message, not even sure if they'll look at my request.

I have ordered GCMS notes, about 30 days ago, still waiting to receive them.

I have also submitted a compliant against IRCC under "Services > Processing Procedures" that they need to at-least provide a meaningful updates to Webform requests and when applications will be finalized.

Seeing recent updates from IRCC that they are processing May applications making me lose all hope.

At this point, I have decided to file a writ of Mandamus. My questions are:
  1. Is 1 year delay without any meaningful updates from IRCC sufficient to justify a Mandamus? My application is not complex per IRCC definition. It was complete, including biometrics and medicals on time (before pandemic). I got no requests for additional docs or anything from IRCC.
  2. How long does a typical Mandamus take to finish?
  3. Has anyone in this forum successful gone through the process (or know someone who has) and willing to share their experience? Does anyone have recommendations for a good lawyer in GTA (Toronto area)?
Perhaps some of the senior folks like @legalfalcon @caipsnotes who may have experience with Mandamus can shed some light.

Thank you all.
I am in same situation. But mine is work permit exentesion in aug. 2019 but still processing.

Got GCMS notes - it seems no one even touched the application since June . Eligibility recommended pass, Criminality passed, info sharing complete, medical passed expired but security not started.
AOR - 23rd Mar 2020
Stream - PNP
Anyone else with similar timeline and status? Guess IRCC again working only on inland applications.

@legalfalcon is it possible to raise gcms notes after copr and pr visa issuance?
Absolutely. You can request GCMS notes and obtain your information anytime, during and after an application has been processed and fil=nalized.
