Hi All,
My income requirement doesnt meet for both of my parents, but it does meet if I want to sponsor only one parent (my mom). In my interest form, I had mentioned both of my parents, but due to income requirements, I want to sponsor only one.
So, can I sponsor only one parent? If yes, my income requirement will be based on that one parent right?
Thanks

Wait until the 2022 PGP sponsorship guidelines are available.

For the current program and past years, you have to sponsor both parents. Each parent must be included and must take the medical. You can’t choose who you sponsor.

No - you can't.

Either you have enough income for both parents or you do not qualify as a sponsor.

No - you cannot sponsor just one parent.

And I hope that you included your spouse in the calculation. You need income for 4 assuming that you do not have younger siblings who are dependents of your parents. And you have no child yet.

Agree with the rest. WIth current PGP rule, you HAVE to include both parents. (even if one is not accompanying. I don't see the benefit or only including 1 in the application since both needs to be counted for the family size and both need to go through medical, police and security check)
