Guys please I need your expert help!!
I am an international student and have a study permit for next 2 years, but due to some personal issues I cannot continue my study in Canada, and I cannot pass my courses for fall 2021 semester because I am moving to US to join my husband there as a dependent, he is a Student there too.
But I want to know if I have any chance to keep my study permit while I am in the US without studying in any course. What alternatives do I have? Is it possible if I apply for September 2023 later? Because my study permit expiry date is for the end of year 2023.
I appreciate for any suggestions. Thanks

Your study permit is going to be canceled once you stop attending school.

You will need to apply for a new study permit if you want to return to Canada in the future to study.

I don't understand your question. You can still pass your courses for fall 2021 because you will move to US?
Are you saying that you already failed your 2021 courses? (If you haven't yet moved, moving cannot be the reason why you failed)
Some school allows remote/online courses. I think that's the only way to "continue your study" and keep your study permit valid.
Once you stopped studying fulltime, the permit becomes invalid.

Thank you for your explanation. Unfortunately I cannot continue my study online because we need to work at studio lab in person.
Also, I have read that if I dont attend my program I have 150 days to leave the Canada and until my study permit become invalid. Is it correct?
so is it possible if I go to US and apply for another program in Canada (may2022) and come back to Canada after 3 or 4 months with the same study permit?
I know it’s a little complicated but we made a hasty decision. And I don’t have enough information.
Thank you

Can you defer your current program?

You need a new study permit if you are applying to a different school/DLI.

She will also need a new study permit if she can’t defer admission for almost 2 years (which is unlikely).

I though OP wants to study again in may2022. I think her best move is to apply for a new study permit when she knows what and when she wants to study in Canada again. Not sure if any effect on the study permit if she applies when she is NOT in her home country.
