I am also on the same boat.. 9 weeks+ ...I called them and it says your we are reviewing your eligibility and your background check in processing? not sure what is required here..
Basically, i had new passport , i believe that has initiated background check processing

I think, it is not related to company, since with same information, my friends already got PPR request within 5 weeks.
My lawyer says that govt audit could stall out the process for a long time. Even wit the same company and the same info, perhaps your title and the material / responsibility prepared for your job req are different compared to your colleagues. Also are you sure that they have received your biometric results?
yes. Bio metrics was there with old application with different role and it is valid.
Oh you already have a biometric done? Is it a PR application? If so that might affect your temp work permit intention.
never, I had previous year workpermit , which got approved in two weeks and i could not go due to covid restrictions, since i had my passport expiry this year and had to again applied to higher role, so it is like i had new passport , new permit on new role.. this time it got stuck..I am really frustrated.. all of my collegue got it in 5 weeks.
do you know, what is the timeline of background check? what should i do if it takes more time? should i file another application? would that help
That should not even be the issue.
Your lawyer should contact IRCC everyday, checking for updates. It's not the background check that you should be worrying about. It is the government audit.
