Hello, I'm living with my Canadian girlfriend. I'm trying to get a CEC invitation first but my GF will back me up with spousal sponsorship if need be.

Aside from photos/chat logs:
  • We have a joint lease agreement.
  • Plane tickets to prove we visited her parents in her hometown.
All addresses for my things with my name (bank accounts, tax statements, driver licence, letters etc.) are sent to our shared house.

Other than that we track all our grocery expenses on an app (we monitor it so our spending is even).

I transfer her half for utility bills but my name isn't on any of these (she emails me the bills and I make a transfer so it's all written).

Is this adequate for spousal sponsorship or do we need both our names on more things?

Thank you for this, I was wondering if anyone know anything about apply for a permanent residence when you have a student visa. My husband is from the states currently studying in Canada. The plan is for me to sponsor him for his PR. ( I am Canadian). I am wondering If we can start the process while he is still studying or if we need to wait until he is finished school.

Thanks for all the help.
Yeah.....you can do that quick to relieve yourself and him from paying too much fees as an international student....dont waste time and but make sure....If your marriage is original then you can even apply for work permit for him and sponsor him at the same time....but sponsor him this week and go through the process and fill all documents and send it....dont waste much money paying tuition as an international student....

You guys have to be properly married first before she can sponsor you....boyfriend girlfriend don't qualify for sponsorship....marry her and make the process easy for yourself

Here you go aside the pictures and extra documents you must provide...Documents you need for the sponsorship

Here’s how to get all the forms you need:
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp
Here’s the list :
IMM5533 – checklist
IMM1344 – Sponsor appl.
IMM0008 – PR appl.
IMM5406 – family details ( for your spouse)
eIMM5669 – Background details (for your spouse – note this form is different from the IMM5669 you likely filed on the H&C)
IMM5532 – relationship details
IMM5562 – travel history (for your spouse)
IMM5546 – military service (only if she did any army service)

Cheers

We're living together and will soon meet the common-law definition, so I'm asking for common-law sponsorship and what is adequate proof to prove common-law status. We have no interest in marriage.

Hello, my husband successfully sponsored me a year ago but a week ago he received a letter from IRCC about his misrepresentation of his own work history in his PR application long time ago. If he is determined misrepresenting and banned from Canada, will I also get banned? Would 40(1)(b) apply to our case? (A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible for misrepresentation <...> for being or having been sponsored by a person who is determined to be inadmissible for misrepresentation)

I applied for my husband to come to canda in October 2019. My application came back 2 times because of a few mistakes. I sent everything back and they received his application on may 1, 2020. On dec 3,2019 they started processing his application for sponsorship. They asked for a police clearance On dec 4 2019 I also received an application number. I sent his police clearance on the end of January 2021. On may 13 2021 the sponsorship application was approved. On may 14 2021 they asked for him to get a medical examination done and he did I submitted it on May 23 2021
For the PR application they received it on may 1 2020. They started processing the PR application on June 29 2021. Then the payments changed so I paied the difference. ($10) The last thing they asked me was $500. But I already paid for it in the beginning when I submitted the application the first time. so I sent them the receipt as proof. Now I’m waiting for a response I’m not too sure what the next step is. But if someone can tell me or help me out that would be wonderful. Thank You

Hi All, I’m planning to sponsor my wife who is living with me here in Canada. I’m PR holder and we have 2 kids. One kid is Canadian. My question is related to her birth certificate. We don’t have her birth certificate however we have her secondary school certificate and school leaving certificate. Both these documents has her birth date on it. Will that is acceptable. Or I have to arrange her birth certificate anyhow? Kindly provide me your comments. TIA

Hello everyone, I'm a Canadian citizen and I had applied to sponsor my wife and son from Cuba, they already got their biometrics & medical done. Now, two days ago I checked online and the status of the application chaged from "In process" to " Decision Made" and also received the pre-arrival email so I wonder if anyone here have an idea of how long it might take before PPR. Thanks

What date to write in "Present Address" box in "Additional Family Background" IMM 5406 Form. I am Sponsering my husband, who is also in Canada, I am confused if We have fill same form for each( Spouse and applicant) or just one should be enough.

Thanks
