Lost jobs in which sectors ;) Hospitality, Tourism etc. they were impacted. IT, Health Care, Finance etc. these were not impacted and a lot of FSW candidates are coming to these fields ;) Do they think that all of FSW is coming to serve a coffee in the coffee shop?
Employers are finding it hard to fill IT, Engineering, and healthcare jobs too. Take a look at the video and other articles.

You are either Dumb or ignorant or a CEC imposter. I think you are all three.
Dude cmon, what if IRCC decides that they need Express Entry 2.0 or something to cater to all categories of applicants present inside Canada not just CEC and it requires cancellation of pending outland applications so that they can free up resources to process applications for these new candidates because they are contributing to the economy or some grand reason like that? Do you really think this is not possible?

Some things I realized in the last few days:
  1. IRCC is moving at a snail's pace when it comes to expired COPR holders. They divided it into pre-March 2020 and post-March 2020 and they are still "contacting" post-March people, they didn't even contact all pre-March applicants. They are sending an email saying "still interested bro?" wasting time and many applicants are not hearing anything even for 2 months after replying. Then they will ask for medicals, PCC's, and god only knows when they will send PPR, sound like months of processing is still pending. They knew at least one month in advance that the border was gonna open and still there is very little movement for expired COPR holders.
  2. The liberal party which is probably going to win publicly announced that they will give more points to temporary residents through Express Entry which means they don't want any outlanders. I am sure it will be almost impossible for most outlanders to compete after these changes.
  3. They just keep inviting and inviting and inviting despite knowing the backlog will become huge and then there is TR to PR pathway and new applications are always given priority.
  4. No update/news on pending outland applications whatsoever, many have not seen any progress for more than a year.
I am not worried about applications getting canceled simply because they cannot do it right now, just that our applications will be pending forever without any progress on them and IRCC is very comfortable with having huge backlogs. I was a little bit hopeful a month back but now things are looking so bad. If the rain of PPR was supposed to happen, it would have at least started for expired COPR holders by now. I doubt they will magically start approving pending outland applications in bulk in coming months.
I wouldn't rely much on raining PPR's. They will come as they get approved. But instead of seeing 1 ppr, we may see 25 ppr's a.

Dude, the problem is "what if". I rested my case with proof. Where is your proof that IRCC will cancel all applications? Till then just calm your T and take a chill pill. Have proof and talk.

The speculation and the waiting caused by IRCC is really getting to everyones heads. I hope and pray we don't have to suffer through this longer, for all of our sake.

Proof is very little progress on expired COPR holders even when tourists are now allowed. Just check other early 2020 AOR threads where people are waiting for IRCC to contact them, if there was movement we would have seen it by now on this forum and on the FB groups. Don't blindly assume that IRCC will work on these pending applications with full capacity anytime soon, there is absolutely no proof that pending applications will not be indefinitely delayed or cancelled. If they are treating approved applications this way then just imagine what they will do with pending applications that didn't receive PPR till now.

Again, you have no proof that backlogs will be cancelled. Your argument is that I have no proofs that backlogs will not be cancelled. I logically laid out my argument with what happened in the past. Thats all I can do. Good luck venting!!!

I am just trying to make sense of IRCC's actions. COPR holders were exempt in June and now tourists are allowed but we still don't see any meaningful progress, you just want to ignore these facts?

The majority of IRCC's resources must be tied up in landing CECs. They've pumped all the resources for economic immigration into that stream and granting CoPRs in record times. I reckon it's all about surety of hitting their yearly target of 'landing' immigrants. I don't see FSWs getting picked up until they get close to their target or exhaust the entire CEC backlog.
