Hello all

I am starting this thread for people who are looking to apply for spousal sponsorship through the recently started online application process.

We can use this space to help each other with the online application.

About me:
Canadian PR who got recently married and looking to sponsor his wife who is in India at present. Would be applying for spousal PR online.

We are also using the online platform. Looks really good so far...I understand the forms do no longer need a signature individually, so it's okay to upload it directly after filling the form right? Instead of printing and scanning..

@Alokuk692 Did you already submit the online application ? May i know when did you submit ?

I am just getting started with mine. PR living in canada and my wife in India.
This is the link:

https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

The link should have been available here:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/spouse-partner-children/apply.html

But I'm not sure why it's not there any more.

Hello, Good that we got connected here. I have a question: I heard that the new portal is under testing phase and not officially announced by IRCC. I know its on their website so should be true. Do we have any applicant who used online application and got AOR or BIL or Medical??

Not yet, we applied just over a month ago. But when we submitted, because we didn't sign two forms we uploaded, the application was returned the next day for updates.

That's positive news. I don't think the system can detect if you haven't signed any forms. This means an officer actually looked at your file and then responded.
I chose to submit mine offline.

Did you submit the application yourself or did your spouse do it online?

Yes an officer actually looked into it and assigned other forms as completed but the two forms not signed were marked as incomplete. There were no restrictions in terms of access also..My wife opened the account but I could also access it to upload some documents from my end and she submitted it on her end..I think any one can submit but the principal applicant is the main applicant on the forms.

Hi,
we are almost done with preparing our application and have few questions.
Can you please let us know how you have uploaded supporting documents?
I mean the order of documents, did you upload them as a single file of separate files?
How did you upload photo? did you scan both sides and upload or uploaded digital photo?

We uploaded them as separate files. There is a drop down list where you can select the name of some documents before uploading e.g police certificate and letter of explanation but for some others you just select "other" before uploading. There is a naming convention you should use also, the instruction is stated there (LAST NAME-FIRST NAME-FORM DESCRIPTION-#).
For our passport photo we uploaded one photo front and then scanned the back in a pdf with the studio name (so we uploaded two documents for this). For the 20 photos on proof of relationship, we put all the photos with description for each photo in a Microsoft word document and converted this to a pdf before uploading.

Hi was there any specific reason you opted for offline instead of online application?

Thanks! So I guess the online system is still new.

my questions:

1- which forms do we have to sign electronically? and which forms we should sign by hand and then scan?
2-how do we submit pics and we label (describe the pics)?
3-there are a lot of supporting documents (like airline tickets, boarding pass, marriage cards etc) can we upload all separately?
