How long did it take you all to receive confirmation from CIC that your application arrived? Our package tracking says it arrived at the processing center on the 20th and neither of us have received any emails from CIC yet. Not sure if I should be worried yet or not!
Its gonna be a while before we can receive AOR or even a temporary application number. There is nothing to worry about.

Finally got my local ups guy to call the one in Mississauga to yell at the driver. He tries to say the building was closed between 9-11 am yesterday. Package was finally delivered today. Hopefully that's the one and only issue we have with out application. Now the wait begins.

Just wanted to confirm. Since we applied for OWP same time that means my USA husband does not have to renew his visitor status right? Due to impled status? Our consultant who looked over our forms before we sent them said we should apply anyway a couple weeks before his 6 months are up to newnew his visitor status here, but I thought if you did the OWP you didn't have too.

It’s safe to apply for a visitor extension before it expires just in case your application gets returned. If that happens your husband will be out of status and then might have to apply for restoration of the status etc. so it’s better to apply for visitor extension.

Hi everyone,

I am applying for Spouse PR (inland) for my wife. I am PR and she is on TRV. We moved to Toronto in April 2021. I started working from May 2021. In form IMM 5533 (Document checklist) Part B Q 5, it asks for Notice of Assessment or Proof of Income. I do not have same as I have not yet filed Income Tax returns.
Can I provide an explanation by showing my pay stubs, employment letter, and bank statement showing my salary?
Please guide me if this is the correct explanation.

I am applying for Spouse PR (Inland) with OWP. I have read that if one applies for OWP then there is no need to apply for a visitor extension.
Should I still apply for an extension?

You should apply for extension to be on the safe side incase your application gets returned

Include a short letter stating you haven't filed taxes yet and why you have not, and any and all other proof of your income and ability to support your family. What you suggest with the letter from employer, the bank statements and pay stubs will work. I also included copies of my husbands travel health insurance policy showing we would be ok if he got sick just the declaration page.

Hi Everyone
I appreciate if someone can guide me on above.
Yes absolutely state that you’re applying inland. When I applied to extend my status - I wrote a letter of explanation and I also attached my receipt for my Inland PR application, as evidence. I don’t know if it was necessary but nevertheless my Visitor Extension was approved.
I applied for it Dec 31st 2020 and received it June 2nd 2021.
