Steam Deck won't be bad but it's going to be so expensive due to shortages and all. The highest end is about $650 but estimated date of delivery is so far and uncertain. People will cop a lot of it and sell at higher price than what Valve sold it to them. Covid is a b*tch.

Have seen the Onexplayer and AYA Neo? I like those, I'm super-interested to see how they run the AAA games. Seen a couple of videos on YT but they are all prototypes. I have learnt not to trust prototypes but the real thing.
Yeah buddy its already sold out for prepurchase even,i will get one anyhow!
Yeah i have checked aya neo,it’s promising but i did also see linus’s video where he compared steam deck and neo and steam fared better!
The only compelling reason for me to buy one is the massive game purchases i have made during all those sales for years will be available to me at zero cost plus the portability is very lucrative deal for me to miss!

i was really hoping for a fsw draw yesterday, but no luck this time again :((((
I’ve also sent 2 requests for updates on fsw draw timelines via the webform on the ircc website. I received 1 response, which was some sort of a template response about what express entry is, how to apply etc. Even though i am already in the EE pool and provided my application number to them.
waiting for this long and the overall resentment actually kinda make me not want to immigrate to canada anymore.. have any of you considered other options?

I won't consider other options as long as canada offers a reasonable outland pathway (like fsw). If they do something stupid and shut down all or most outland options then i'll go to europe. Not looking to pay 100k CAD to mediocre schools known by nobody in europe or the rest of the world only to be unemployed in a country with minimal stem job market.

The only english speaking country that has a similar immigration pathway is Australia (as far as I know). Otherwise, you must have a valid job offer or go there to study first, which will not secure a resident visa, but will allow you to stay there legally and work.

My overall understanding of the situation is that this long pause on FSW draws has absolutely nothing to do with Covid anymore.
1) The second half of 2020 they had this FSW draws
2) International students are still allowed to enter and even many PNP nominated applicants have never set a foot in Canada before (They are basically in the same boat as outland FSW with a huge difference that they are meeting the specific demands of a certain province)
My suggestion for all of us is to basically forget about all these signs and predictions. Or else you gonna keep hoping for a coming month on a rolling basis. Creating an express entry profile with a high score is all that we could have control over. The rest is out of our control. I'd say I would just check my email once a day to see whether there is any email from IRCC or not. Other than that, I can't do much but to live my life.

And considering other options is absolutely a choice. To me, Canada is my number 1 favorite destination (I did not choose it basically due to the fact that they are offering an entry as a Permanent Resident, but because I had the dream of moving there after having many family members and a couple of friends living there and telling me about their stories) + No other country at the moment (as Australia canceled all international programs) is offering you a PR status from day 1. Any other route to immigration would take at least 5-10 years.

But after all, the wisest thing I guess is to hope for the best while being prepared for the worst scenario.

Well said, we just have to wait and see what plans they’ve line up after the border gets reopened. If I hadn’t seen those documents recently released I probably would have given up on FSW draws by now because covid is no longer a valid reason. So, I’m assuming non-conduction of these draws till now is somewhat related to the pausing of outland files processing which is in turn dictated by travel restrictions currently in place. We wait and see

Guyz is there a way to immigrate to the US thats somewhat similar to Express Entry?
The closest is DV Lottery. It is similar to express entry as you will be entering the country as a permanent resident but far different in terms of the fact that you have to only rely on your luck rather than any other factor.

Regardless, since they have already invited immigrants, the least thing they could do is to issue CoPRs for those already approved since 2019. The CoVid excuse is no longer valid considering most people already have vaccines.

What other options are there? I’d really like to know too.
