Hi, my wife is a US citizen and I am a Canadian citizen. My wife is here with me in Canada on a work visa but has to return to the US next week due to family matters, so we are applying as outland. What we basically want to know is, should we be filling out our forms as if my wife is outside Canada (as in putting current country of residence as United States), if she is going to be in the US now for some time? We are afraid of confusing the agent by saying my spouse is in Canada at the time of completing the forms, or are we overthinking it?

Thanks for your help!

I would also like to add, on form IMM 5533 E Document Checklist, question #7 "Proof of Relationship to Sponsor" it asks if my spouse and I are currently living together. We would like to indicate "Yes", as we have tons of the required proof, including Joint Bank account, rental agreement from the past year and a half, and vehicle insurance.

We are just unsure if we should indicate that we are living together if we are very soon going to not be living together, is it okay to indicate that we are and use the proof we have?

You're overthinking. Fine to apply outland even if living together. You can update her address later if she will be outside Canada for long.
