hello everyone, I got a RCMP clearance request for my parents' PR application. The request letter mentioned both parents (primary applicant and dependent) to get fingerprinting done but the letter that followed with instructions to complete fingerprinting only included my mom's name on the "criminal record check based on fingerprints form". Does this mean they only need fingerprints for my mom? do they require that form to do fingerprinting?
Hi can you tell me how long your parents are in Canada and how did they send the request? I mean by mail or Email

Did your parents already submit the PCC from their country and this is asked because they stayed here more than 6 month?
Also wanted to know how IRCC sent this request.

@vn69313

Got the GCMS note this morning.

The note said my SA's eligibility passed. File was transferred to Singapore on June 9, 2021. They started PA's criminal check.

Seems like GCMS is the only way to go these days.
Thank you for the update, what is the "GCMS" ? One more question, when you got the BIO letter for your parents what the address was in the letter? your Canadian or the Parents' home country?

Hello Friends,
We sent our pp page copies and pictures and prepaid return Fedex envelope to Ottawa almost two weeks ago, for COPR to be sent back to us in the USA. Today I got an update and the new line for application status says:
"July 14: Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details."
But there are no new messages! Wonder what this means. Should we expect them to be sending us the COPR in a few days?

I just saw one person in whatsapp group who got this exemption for PGP, and his dad did the last medical 2.5 years ago for visitor extension. Do you know more people who got the email?

I just did a search on this forum and found a couple people from the experienced class or for spousal sponsorship got this email...
My mom who is a dependent got this email... Her last medical was 2 years ago.
Hope this is a good sign that the file is moving along...

Good to know that your mom got the extension too.
Is she in Canada? So she did medical 2 years ago for PGP?
My parents are in Canada currently and they did PGP medical in feb 2020, hoping if they get this email too.

Yes her medical was done and passed in July 2019.
Our file got delayed for so long because my dad's medical was deemed inadmissible at the beginning. It was reassessed and finally passed this March.

This is a public policy, I'm sure it will be applied to all eligible applicants sooner or later.

Have they given the same extension to your dad or no?

Hi, Can a new PR moved this year, sponsor the parent? Though elegibility is not about years of holding PR but Then the tax docs they request for income is requested for past 3 years. Any experience will be highly appreciated.
No you can’t apply to sponsor your parents if you only moved to Canada this year.

No his medical is not expired yet. In March 2022.
Would make sure you have the extra funds to care for your father if they do come to Canada. Many are not aware that for anursing home alone you are looking at around $1200/month out of your pocket plus additional expenses. Many assume that the majority of healthcare for seniors (or any other patient) is covered until you live through it and realize that many things are not covered or partially covered. Many families end up spending a considerable amount of money taking care of family when their health deteriorates. You mention your other family wasn’t supportive about them moving to Canada. Many family members end up not being supportive once they realize the actual cost of care and medical equipment/supplies and that families end up providing all or most of the care even if that means having to quit their job. The services you are entitled to and what you actually receive are often quite different and you aren’t entitled to a lot if you start looking into this. The LICO amount would not be able to cover the costs of caring for most parents which is why I wish the government was more clear about the actual expenses involved with caring for a senior with health issues in Canada. People look at free hospital care and most medication at low cost but that is a very small fraction of normal care.
