It isn’t the sort of example that should be leading attempts at press interest, seeing as IRCC could simply turn around and state that this applicant didn’t exhaust all options available to them. Ugh.

I am asking myself the same question. My experience, I had applied for BOWP, it expired while PR application in progress, and I reapplied for a second BOWP, all approved.
I didn't know you could apply for a second bowp. Huh good stuff, lowers my stress level a teeny weeny bit.
Yup, for as long as you have a PR application in progress, and your AOR, you can apply for a BOWP
The open work permit is issued under the authority of paragraph R205(a) and coded as follows:
- LMIA exemption code: A-75
- NOC: 9999
- Intended Occupation: open
- Case Type: 27 – Under examination
- Duration: 12 months

What is the difference between this public policy work permit extention stream and BWOP?
Is it only the duration and public policy stream is a one time opportunity.

A BOWP can be applied for as long as the applicant has 4 months or less remaining on their current, valid work permit AND has submitted a PR application that is currently in progress.

August folks still waiting, how are you all holding up? Hope you are taking care of your mental health and keeping safe (and gotten your vaccines if that's applicable to you)
I hope you can excuse that we are from the first part of September and not from August: holding up and hoping for the best.
Got our first doses of mRNA vaccine in Canada and Europe. The Second dose will be this week and once it's done I'll be trying my luck to apply for the TRV to reunite.
We wish Everyone in the same boat to be reunited soon with our families!
