is it normal for kids 'background processing' to be in 'in process' while adult 'background process' is completed? My kids background checks shows as in-progress, while my background is completed.

is it same with everyone (or) just my application? I wonder what background check are they doing for 3 year olds?

Family size: single
Location: Brampton, Ontario
App. Sent: Nov 20, 2019
App. Delivered: Dec 06, 2019
AOR: January 28, 2020
Test Invitation: Mar 11, 2021
Test Date - Passed: March 28, 2021
Interview date: June 22 2021
Oath invite: Waiting

My interview was actually cancelled as I received an email from the citizenship officer saying they can make a decision on the file with the documents I had sent across and I didn’t need to attend the interview. All the status on the dashboard shows as completed except for the citizenship oath which shows as not started. The application still shows as IN progress. Any ideas in terms of how long it would take to actually get the email for the oath ceremony? Feels like we have been waiting forever!

Does anyone know how to get through to a live agent at their call centre? I called 10 times in one day and either heard "not taking calls at this time" or after going through their auto-system, end up hearing "agents are busy, try again later".

If you could please share the number you used etc. that'd be great! The number I tried was 1-888-242-2100.

I'm ready to start adding pressure to CIC in any way I can, email/phone calls/tweets. Persons who applied in late 2020 should not be getting through before us.
If you able to contact them? Any idea why 2020 applications are being processed before 2019?

No, instead apply after your oath separately for the child since you would be citizen by then. Child should be PR while you apply for his/her citizenship.

Same here..still waiting for test invite and I applied in Nov 2019
Me too.
Based on current trends in this forum, the processing time would be 2 years for 2019. 18 months for first-half 2020 and 12 months for second-half 2020.

So most likely, we will get an update before end of this year.

One of my family friend applied on March 2020 and that person got the test invite on beginning of June 2021. They are processing 2020 applications in fastest way.
