Hi All,

is this normal?

when I track my application online, I see background check and citizenship test completed. All other categories are “in progress” and ceremony “not started”.

how or why would I get an invite to do the test if any of the others categories are not met?

would appreciate your feedback

thanks

Hello Friends, I have a quick question on my Green Card (Indian Citizen)...My Spouse employer has filed Green Card in EB1 category for her and Its in final stage now [filed I485 in October 2020].
My question is - I have Canadian citizenship coming up for myself & my kids [not for my spouse] and we are expecting the oath ceremony next month.
Will my Canadian Citizenship impact the Green Card processing for our family or is it totally independent.
Since my spouse is primary on the Green Card and she is not taking Canadian citizenship, Will it be OK? Please suggest!

Yes, this is normal.

Here's the brief process workflow and here's a more detailed one.

Sure,
I will wait for the test then I will reschedule it like you suggested.
I really appreciate you for suggesting me.
thanks
You need to be physically present in Canada in order to take the test, otherwise, you should reschedule it.

If we invited you for an online test, you

  • have 21 daysfrom the date in the invitation to take the test
    • If you need an extension, email the office that sent you the test invitation with your explanation.
    • Our officers give extensions on a case-by-case basis.
  • must be in Canada to take the test
  • can wait until the in-person tests resume (date to be determined) if you can’t or don’t want to do the online test
hi ,
Just now I got request to attend citizenship test on Application tracker but I have not got any email about it.
Like I said before I am still stuck in India and I can’t attend the test from here and flights are still in ban to travel to Canada .
So what shall I do ? Shall I drop a web form about rescheduling the test ? Or shall I wait for the email and respond to that ?
Thanks

Well, you might be in luck. Someone just posted something about overseas testing now being accepted by IRCC.

I haven't verified this claim so I can't attest to the authenticity of it. I have requested a PDF version of the email so the validity of this claim can be verified.
