which program is better for me? Study or Pr
I have experience of 3 years and my overall CRS is 396 which is not enough, so should I go for a study visa? Is that the best option for me? and what exactly should I go for, a one-year program?

Your score is too low for Express Entry. You need a score of 470+.

If you want to go the study permit route, make sure you pick a two year program (not a 1 year program) so that you can qualify for a 3 year PGWP. Much lower chances of getting PR with just a 1 year study program.

Thank you, However, when I calculate my score with one year program and 1-year work permit it boosts my score to 484, is that not enough?

The risk is that you won't find a NOC A, B or 0 job soon enough after graduating and that you won't be able to get a full year of skilled work experience before your PGWP expires. This has happened to many people here. This is why it is so risky to only take a 1 year program. You can certainly do it - but it's not a good plan if your objective is PR.

would my 3 years of experience in India won't be a help?

It will - but this by no means guarantees that you'll find a skilled job right away.

Again, very risky just to go with a 1 year program. But ultimately your choice.

If you scour this and many other forums, you will encounter the experience of many new immigrants who were unable to find a job in their field or at a comparable level. For instance, new Canadians who were high level professionals in their country very often undertake several odd jobs until they complete their certifications. Sometimes, they even redo an entire education program to make their qualifications comparable to Canadian standards. Doctors driving cabs to make a living is not a rare occurence after all.

Good planning and research about future possibilities will bring you success. Apart from this, you also have to take in consideration how your chosen program and your overall application will come across to VO.

Good luck.

Yes there are thousands of people like you; from India with 10 years 15 years experience, both students and PRs. Unless you have in a high demand field like Software Development, Database, iOS, .NET then you will struggle
