The answer is pretty obvious. There are flight bans from India, and I believe the VACs are closed as well.

So issuing PPRs to applicants who can't submit their passports and couldn't travel anyway is going to be low priority, if only temporarily.
I guess if I get my visa I can travel to canada because I am spouse of permanent resident who is staying in canada.

hey everyone I have my USA citizenship and I’m married to Canadian. We applied back in April last year but I have only the decision made so far. I wanna visit while waiting for my Approval. Do y’all think it’s okay or just wait for the PPR. Thanks

Hi everyone,
I just realised that the application's date submitted on GCKey is December 4, 2020. Although the IRCC received our documents on March 30, 2020. Does that mean anything? Like, do they treat our application as December 2020 application rather than March 2020? Thanks

Hello,
I have submitted my application on 30 March 2020 as well, in GC key it does show a later date which is when they actually started processing my application. I don’t think it matters as in online client status tool it shows the correct date.

Hi All, I saw this in one of the news articles today and this was posted as response received from IRCC for an Outland dependent PR application “Regarding your application, as your dependents are overseas, the application will be placed on hold as we are only processing applications for Permanent Residency if all family members are in Canada. Unfortunately, we cannot be sure when travel restrictions will be lifted.” So it looks like IRCC is only processing inland applications and that is why we are not getting PPR yet.

Sounds mistaken, this report. Lots of applicants getting pprs now.
