No, I sent a photocopy to update their records because my previous passport that I applied with had expired.

As per IRCC over the phone, they said you only get a port of entry letter which you use to enter Canada. Once you arrive to Canada, you will receive your stamp on the passport.
Hmm. It’s the work permit that you will receive in the port of entry. I did it with my first work permit. The stamp/sticker VISA in the passport will be from the embassy. So you will get TWO things. One is the sticker VISA for your passport that you will get from the canada embassy BEFORE you leave Ph (naia will check it inside your passport) and the WORK Permit (piece of paper) as soon as you arrived in Canada airport.

FYi, for those first timers to get approval. I applied one tourist visa and 3 work permits, all approved (did it all by myself, no consultant or agency).
Once you received a formal letter stating that they need your physical passport as final stage of approval, it means you passed (otherwise, what are they gonna do with your original passport?) and can go to canada as soon as you get the passport back. You will send it NOT TO IRCC in Edmonton, but in your local Canada embassy. You can send it via mail or you can go to embassy by yourself (depends on country). I think Philippines has different instruction. I processed my work visa in Israel (as a tourist there), that’s why I was the one who went to Canada embassy as soon as I received the letter. And did it within 10 minutes of waiting only. Voila, I got the sticker inside my passport! And that day, I booked a flight to Canada for the next day.

Sorry for the confusion, just to clarify. I am a Sept 2019 Applicant from outside Canada in PH. I was requested a new passport by the officer to have a valid passport. This was due to the constant amount of times my employer and I contacted IRCC. The letter said we acknowledged your inquiry for the work permit.

As for the final stage 1. I am eligible for it and once I get my work permit, I'll be completely done stage 1.

Also I have no dependants
congratulations. it is good to hear that someone from 2019 has some updates

For those who applied in 2019, will the applicants be required to give the IELTS test again if the IELTS is expired?

Thanks ..

I doubt they will ask for another test. Most test results stay valid for 2 years and pretty obvious your language skills only improve with time. Applicants did their part, it’s just the immigration that delayed so applicants shldnt b asked to take the exam again.
