Hi Everyone,

I live in Toronto, and my wife is pregnant. We have a doctor's note as my wife situation is critical would need someone here to take care as due to my job I can not stay at home as I am the only earner (financial) in family. In this regard, I went through IRCC website I have following questions.

1) if I understand correctly, following forms would be needed? I would appreciate if you can please confirm me.

2) Do I need IMM 5645 or I need IMM 5707? When I check website for Pakistan, it shows IMM 5707. Would appreciate if you can confirm?

3) Regarding complete application package along with photos, how can I send it if I am submitting application online?

4) I want to submit application online in my father in law account, I want to submit my mother in law documents along with him as well. Previously, there used to be a form IMM 5713 for allowing family member to submit application package online but not I don't see it any more. In this case, do I need to fill IMM 5476 e form? Can anyone please guide me?

5) Do the need to fill out the Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union [IMM 5409] ? All answers in this form for section 1, 2, and 3 are NO, so in section 4, the only supporting document is Marriage certificate, if I attach it, will it be sufficient?

6) Lastly, do they both have to have valid travel insurance policy already paid and need to attached copy of insurance policy with their application? It does not make sense if application processing time is more than 400 days, then technical it is a waste of money as by the time application is approved, the insurance policy would have been expired. Can anyone please guide if they need to have insurance policy before they apply?

Thank you in advance.

Since they meet travel restrictions they can apply for priority processing. Most travel insurance policies can be bought in advance but only become effective on the date when you travel. Would also include a quarantine plan since you can’t quarantine with non-travellers but especially non-travellers who are pregnant. Your doctor should include information about your wife’s medical condition (other than normal pregnancy) that requires someone to be with her at your home to care for her while you work.
