Thank you for the response. I was looking at the below post (OP perpetual wait) and was thinking that maybe before a test invite is issued the officer reviews the file in detail and sends the invite. Once the test is completed, if they want to verify something they do that through interview/document review and then it goes to DM.

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/august-2020-citizenship-application.696391/post-9432908

Maybe that is why test invites take time, it is just not pressing a button and the invite is sent, it could be that the officer has to take a look at it.

Just trying to make sense of the new process

My application has been "Test Ready" since 24th March 2021. I'm glad that it isn't rotting away in the registry.

Security and Criminality both appear to be complete. This is good!

The "due date" for knowledge (test), prohibition, language and physical presence is 28 November 2021. Coincidentally, perhaps, this is exactly 10 months from when my application went to IP status on ECAS. This is a little bit off putting but I hope they won't wait until the 11th hour before issuing a test invite.

Under the "Organization & Entities" section, I see an entry listed as "telework". I don't think this is related to me. I think this refers to the WFH scheme for IRCC employees.

My application was in-transit as of 10th March 2021. My application was received in Mississauga office registry on 19th March, 2021. Application was moved to "Test Ready" status by Mississauga office on 24th March 2021.

The entirety of the officer notes have been redacted which is weird. I doubt that all 12.5 pages would contain information that is considered confidential.

I looked up S.12(1) under the privacy act and it reads as follows:

https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/p-21/section-12.html

Not sure which part of this law they are using to censor the information.

I'll request notes from CBSA at a later point in time and like word has it, I might see less redactions in their notes.

Good luck everyone, we should all see updates on our applications soon!
Same thing on my note. They redacted the entire history which make the note useless. Mine is sitting in registry since feb. I remember during pr application, only security portion of the history was redacted on the notes but I think they want people to stop ordering notes and that’s why they redact the entire history. In my case, security is still in progress and no idea why it has not been completed. I have ordered notes from csis.

Checks happen at different points in time.

Check out the image under 'Exhibit 2.2' in this link. This was 2016 Spring Reports of the Auditor General of Canada about the citizenship process. This might give some idea about the internal processes of IRCC.

I was not able to find a more recent version of this report for the citizenship process.

Hi all,

Can someone please help me with my query?

I submitted my citizenship application on Sep 25, 2020. My file is in progress from Feb 22, 2021. I haven't received AOR email. Would it be possible to check online status (the recent one with more detailed updates) with out file number? let me know. I tried to reach out CIC via web forum but I haven't received any reply from them.

I would really appreciate if someone who is in the same boat as mine or someone can suggest a solution to this?

Thank you

You can check the status on ECAS without your application number. For the new dashboard, you need your application number to check status. Call IRCC and ask them for your application number and they'll give it to you.

Good luck!

Why order cbsa notes if you are already test ready? Most of us are not even test ready, and we are not as worried. If your need is urgent, you can always try your luck in requesting urgent processing if you have a good enough reason.

I'm ordering CBSA notes later (not now). I know that I am test ready but my goal is to find out if what people are saying is true (That is, there is less redaction in CBSA notes compared to IRCC notes).

I have no basis to apply for urgent processing. I'll just have to wait like the others :) .

Yes but I think you'll have to use something like hangouts dialer to call them. You might want to check with someone who called IRCC from outside Canada to be sure.

All, please remember that ordering notes is meant for if your application takes longer than the advertised time. Ordering it before just wastes the officer's time. I know it is frustrating to wait, but when you were preparing your applications you saw the average processing time was 12 months. It baffles me that after you apply and you wait 7 ish months you then expect your application to be complete. Just hang on!

AFAIK, ordering notes doesn't waste the "officer's" time (I think you are referring to the officer that processes the our applications). Every government organization has a separate department that deals with ATIP requests. The requests are handled end-to-end by these departments and the officers that process our immigration/citizenship applications play no role in it, AFAIK. The ATIP department for IRCC handles the requests received under Access to Information and the Privacy Act. They are able to fetch the notes from the GCMS system, redact it and then send it to the applicants.

However, I agree on the fact that ordering notes excessively might put pressure on the ATIP department of IRCC but it doesn't really affect immigration/citizenship application processing times like many people think AFAIK.

Could someone please throw some light on what Telework is? It's not an organization which OP probably worked for but this has appeared on a lot of case notes I have seen. The created date is also probably before the OP even had applied for citizenship. I get they might hide the name of actual organization but this seems something different as it appears on a lot of candidates case notes.
