What are our options? Visa for FIL

Hi all, we are in a tricky situation. Appreciate advice re what we can do now.

We have our PR cards (soft landing) but just before we moved COVID happened and we didn’t move. We live in the UK and inlaws in India. MIL passed away recently with Covid and FIL (father-in-law) came to stay with us (UK). We’d like to move to Canada ASAP, but FIL doesn’t have a visa. We cannot send him back to India given the Covid situation there

Is there any way we can take FIL with us to Canada? Can he apply for visitor visa or Supervisa from the UK ?

Super visa is not an option. You're not working in Canada.

TRV is the only option. Probably 50/50 whether he will be approved or not. Main challenge will be convincing IRCC he's only coming to Canada temporarily.

You can try for a visitor visa, but he must show strong ties to India to be approved. He isn’t eligible for a supervisa. Processing is longer from the UK than India at 420+ days.
