Hi everyone

Been a silent reader here since like ever, literally. Always wanted to post this. AoR March 2020. Finally got approved- they called. If you already have the medical extension approved, most likely you would have your PR approval within 6 weeks ( was 4 for me ). Hope you all in this group get your approval soon.
Congrats
Can you share ur VO and officer?

Can ordering GCMS notes delay the application by moving the file around? I am planning to get another GCMS done.

If my file is moved to Local Visa office (New Delhi). IRCC Call center doesn't disclose current status is it?
IRCC has already clarified this:

Requesting GCMS notes has no impact on the processing of your application as they re done pursuant to different laws, Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Access to Information Act, by different divisions of IRCC.

IRCC has been experiencing delays. Instead you can consider requesting the GCMS notes from CBSA, same process, same price and you may get it faster, see https://bit.ly/3tSsuh0

Thanks a lot for your reply @legalfalcon ..From what I understand, a decision is different from a final decision. And call Center folks cannot share the decision unless it’s the final decision. Is that correct ?

It’s the local visa officer which will communicate the final decision to me . Right ?

Does the local vo do any kind of checks on the application before issuing a final decision ?
A decision is a decision. It is not different. Unless it is formally communicated to you by IRCC in writing, the call centre agents will not say anything, except what they have informed. Even if your GCMS notes saw approve, unless you receive a decision, the file is not finalised.

The decision can be communicated to you by any visa office. However, the COPR and PR visa will be issued by the LVO.

It will depend on where your file is being processed. A file can be transferred to any VO in or outside Canada. See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/file-transfer.html

Based on where your file is, and what stage it is, the processing happens at that VO. For some applications, the file is transferred early in the process, for others it is sent after all stages have been passed.

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday my wife received an email (secondary applicant) from CIC-OTTAWA-IMMIGRATION@cic.gc.ca address mentioning the following :

Subject Line : Our Application Number

Body:

Good day,

My UCI - Full Name
My Wife's UCI - Full name

In order to continue working on your application of permanent residency, please provide the following details:
1. First day and last day of entering into Canada with port of Entry
2. Your current address
3. Are you still in Canada

Now the email address, domain and the details mentioned on the email (application number and UCI numbers) are all correct.
But this seems a little sketchy. The email was received at 6:26 yesterday evening so I could not call the center and I can not wait for 2 days. And no updates on portal.

Has anyone else received such email? Is this normal?

I received an email today from immigration:
Subject: IRCC Permanent Residence Confirmation Portal
And attached a pdf saying that they are in the process of finalize my process.
They also mentioned how the PR confirmation portal works and asked to provide the info below:
Name, UCI, email, original data of entry in Canada and date of last entry.
@legalfalcon Is this normal ?
I thought the next step would be COPR already.
This was from Etobicoke office.

I missed a call from Ottawa today, I have no business in Ottawa other than the PR, will they try me again if I missed the call?

Are you a Inland applicant? Can you post timeline when each stage was approved?
Yes, am Inland. Everything except criminality was cleared somewhere in 2020 itself.
Criminality got cleared in last week of January and then I was stuck waiting for Final Decision.

Omg I got the exact same email and am totally perplexed, and it’s just an email you’re supposed to reply to with your photo and house address as opposed to an actual “portal”.

did you reply simply by confirming that you are currently in Canada, provide your current address and upload a photo or did you also state when and where you first entered Canada?

We responded with the dates(which seemed harmless), address (calculated risk) and a simple yes for being in Canada. I didn't attach any documents as it seemed a little sketchy.
But we got CoPR within 24 hours.

Hi guys,

Literally spent the last 2-3 hours reading through the posts and looks like a lot of you are in the same boat here. For my case, I need your thoughts/input as I'm still waiting for my first GCMS. Per my latest call with IRCC though, I noted the below summary of my application

CEC EE Inland and VO Ottawa
AOR: April 2020
Biometrics: November 2020
Eligibility: Pass
Security: Pass
Criminality: In progress
Medical: Pass
Info Sharing: Complete

I find it odd that only Criminality is pending while others look fine. Does this mean mine is close to the goal line hopefully? Has anyone seen something like this.

Also lots of you talk about updated or extended medical status, but I haven't seen that update on my end yet. So, a bit confused whether medical extension comes before final approval these days.

Any thoughts?
