Thank you for your reply. So it took THAT long?
So did you apply for a work permit for your spouse during the waiting period?
Yes, it look long and due to Covid, my spouse was able to submit biometrics only in Jan 2021. I am still waiting for a response from CiC.
No, I did not apply for work permit as that would take time as well.

Thank you so much for the A2A. I have one more question.
You submitted your spouse's documents in January 2019. So a work permit application then would've just taken around 2-3 months. Any particular reason why a work permit wasn't an option for you?

I submitted my application in September 2019 and got married in Nov after I got ITA.
I submitted additional docs for spouse in Jan and was expecting not to take too long for remaining procedures. I did not apply for work permit as I heard many rejection cases at that time, so did not want to take any risk.

I got the similar email. while calling ircc.
but I have confusion regarding whom should fill the form. I again called ircc and agent told me something different than what I found during research.
Agent told me this.
IMM 0008 - must fill by applicant and add spouse as dependent.
IMM 5669 - only spouse has to fill it.
IMM 5406 - only spouse has to fill it.

agent also told me that they already have my information so they do not need IMM 5669 and IMM 5406 for my self.

can anyone confirm this please?
Hi...did you fill imm 0008 for both of you separately?

Hi Respected members,

Upon raising the CSE form to add a spouse during my PR application (CEC class, express entry)

I have been asked to submit the below-mentioned forms through IRCC webform.

  • A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
  • (If applicable) A Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form,
  • (If applicable) An Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) form,
  • (If applicable) A signed Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) form,
  • A copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship,
  • A copy of the family member's valid passport,
  • Police certificates for all countries where the family member over the age of 18 has lived for more than 6 months since turning 18,
  • A letter of explanation, and
  • If applicable, the proof of payment.

My questions are as follow :

    1. Is the birth certificate mentioned above is for me or for my spouse?
    2.What should the LOE include?
  • 3. I am not asked to submit any marriage pictures, is it normal?
  • 4.Shouldn't I be receiving this information on my CIC portal or the required documents be sent through IRCC webform?

I will really appreciate it if someone can help me in this regard.
@waqarrr

Which forms did you fill for your spouse and which ones for yourself(principal applicant)?

Hi @patelyogesh2

Did you fill IMM5669 for both - yourself (principal applicant) and spouse or only for spouse?
Did you get your PR already?

Biometrics Completed: March 11, 2020
Travelled to India: March 12, 2020
RPRF Request: March 13, 2020
RPRF Paid: March 18, 2020
Wedding: March 23, 2020
Wedding Registered: May 19, 2020 (late, due to the Covid Lockdown)
Webform to Add Dependant: June 8, 2020 (Followup Webform: June 27, 2020)
Additional Documents Requested (for spouse): August 6, 2020

No update after this point (As of February 11, 2021). It has been six months since the last update. Is this normal?
Just wanted to know if anybody is here with a similar situation, approved or in waiting? Can anyone tell me what I can expect next from CIC? Biometric request?
Thanks in advance.
My brother AOR june 2020 and got married in jan 2021 then he added his wife in application and send all the documents after that his wife also given biometric in march and today we got email below
Your application and all of the documents you submitted in support of it have been reviewed and it appears that you may not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.
Subsection 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.
I am writing you this letter because I have concerns that you no longer meet the requirements of Section 11.2 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). I note that you submitted your application and have been rewarded Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points on the basis of your marital status as “single”. As you have indicated that you are currently “married” and you wish to add your spouse as your accompanying dependent in your application, resulted in a loss of points that brought your rank below the lowest ranking person who was invited to apply in your draw. As per Section 8 of the Ministerial Instructions respecting the express Entry System, you do not currently meet the minimum entry criteria.
You retain the option of having your application assessed with a “non-accompanying dependent” and sponsor your spouse as a member of the family class in the future. As a result, your CRS points remain unchanged. You may also wish to withdraw your current application (E001542307) and re-apply for another application under the Canada Experience Class with your accompanying dependent.
Please note that if you choose to submit a new application it would require new fees and documentation and you would need to meet all the requirements in effect at the time the application is submitted.
However, you must meet the minimum requirements to enter the Express Entry pool and there is no guarantee that you will be issued another invitation to apply for permanent residence under one of the immigration programs subject to Express Entry.
If you wish to continue with your current application, you will have 7 days to complete and provide me with an updated application for permanent residence. If you do not comply and/or if the required document is incomplete with this request within 7 days, your application will be assessed based on the information currently on file and may result in the refusal of your application.
