No one know for sure if they will continue to wave the 3 months waiting period in July/August. And no one knows if you can get TRV and how long processing TRV will take.

She definitly will need to stay much longer than a few months there.

Would add that your child needs to remain in Ontario for over 6 months to have their health coverage or you could be asked to repay any medical care used. It is not only your spouse that needs to remain for over 6 months. Any care involving the NICU is extremely expensive.

I'm not much worried about the pregnancy being covered via insurance, my main focus was for me to get a visa so that I can be with my wife and was looking forward to tips so that my TRV doesn't get cancelled.
PS: Anyone knows how much will it cost if she doesn't managed to fly on time and her insurance doesn't kick in on time.This would help me to speculate cost incurred.

Would suggest you apply for a TRV as a first step. Cost vary by hospital, location and doctor. Also varies by type of birth, length of birth, complications, length of stay in the hospital. 6-20K is probably the average without major complications or extended stays in the hospital. You should look into the quarantine costs (hotel quarantine and 11 other days of quarantine), flight/travel costs since currently most flight from sun destinations have been stopped by the Canadian government. I'm not sure whether they will be reinstated. Housing costs are the other thing to be considered. I am not sure you've been vaccinated but because pregnant women are at higher risk of covid complications I would also discussing with your OB about whether travel is advisable.

IMO the costs should be a concern unless you are extremely wealthy.

A normal birth with zero complications can be done for $10K. The risk you run is that if there are any complications, this can very quickly get into tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars (even a million in very rare situations with extreme complications).

Up to 10K is usually a vaginal birth with epidural and 2-3 days in the hospital but c-section is usually more and also may require a longer hospital stay unless a planned c-section.

I would let you research the costs of giving birth in the Cayman Islands if she doesn't managed to fly on time. In order to bring the baby to Canada, the mother will have to travel alone to Canada and apply the sponsorship to bring the rest of the family for reunification.

Btw, did you heard recently there's a woman gave birth in the plane?
