Yep, which leads me to believe that he was either lying or thought that the confirmation email is the AOR.
Yes it looks like or he was referring to some other program after applying on ITA

Or he thought its first april

Or he thought lets play with desperate candidates.

Did any of you just submit your degree and transcripts and nothing else for your proof of education? Reason I’m asking is because.I’ve heard people say that you also need a formal letter from your college otherwise your application is going to get rejected. I’m losing sleep over this lol

What is the purpose of the formal letter ?

Everything show in your official transcripts and your degree, i do't think government would need anything else lol

I uploaded the letter too as it was part of the requirement, but to be honest, i don't know why they want it. Transcript and degree is more than enough to prove education...

  • You must provide:
    • A final transcript, and
    • A letter from the institution and/or the formal notice of graduation
  • You must provide proof that shows:
    • The type of credential granted (degree, diploma, certificate, or attestation)
    • The length (in weeks, months, or years) of the program of study,
    • That you were authorized to study for the duration of studies,
    • the date of completion;
    • the name of the school that granted the degree, diploma, certificate, or attestation.
Based on the guideline - there are 2 options and/or - so in case you don't have the letter of your school then the degree/diploma is the notice of graduation. Don't worry, i'm pretty sure you will be fine.

Thanks man this atleast makes me feel a bit better . This whole process is such a mess if they had just released the guide even a week before the program launched many of the people wouldn’t have made silly mistakes.

Job duties are required-

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5069-temporary-resident-permanent-resident-pathway.html

2. Proof of Current Employment in Canada

When you apply, you will need to prove that you are currently employed in Canada.

You must submit the following as proof:

  • A copy of your work permit(s) in Canada (if applicable), and
  • An employer reference letter from your current employer. The letter must include:
    • location of work
    • specific period of your employment (to/from dates)
    • description of your main responsibilities and duties
    • your total annual salary and benefits
    • the number of hours you work per week
    • your employer's name, signature, full address, telephone number and email address (if applicable)
What if the ff are not in the reference letter but in Employment agreement?
  • location of work
  • specific period of employment and
  • Benefits
    ** Will that be okay?

I see. I wasn't sure was exactly they meant by "formal notice of graduation".

Hi I discussed about biometric situation with consultant who has pretty good amount of experience in this field he told me if cic did not provide mandatory section for biometric proof then they cannot refuse your file for that and there are some laws that cic also have to follow.
As there was no mandatory section for biometrics proof in portal so chance of refusal because of that is almost zero.
He said if you missed mandatory sections (section with *) then there is chance of refusal.
Note: Info from 3rd person. Neither from me nor from CIC
kindly read the post fully first few lines may create confusion.

Under normal conditions- for every PR application you have to give biometrics even if you have given for work permit or study permit which is case for almost of us. It doesn’t matter if it is valid.
This is IRCC has been telling on twitter Because they don’t alter tweets as per individual.

but
but

since this is Covid time therefore there are some categories which are exempted from above conditions.

Who is exempt from biometrics
Biometrics exemption for temporary residence applicants in Canada
As a temporary measure, you’re exempt from giving biometrics if you’re both of the following:
  • in Canada
  • applying or have an application in progress
    • to extend your stay as a student, worker or visitor
    • to restore your status as a student, worker or visitor
    • for a work or study permit
    • for a visitor visa
    • for a temporary resident permit
This exemption applies even if
  • your application form for a work permit, study permit or visitor visa says it’s for applicants outside Canada
  • our online application system asks you to pay a biometric fee (CAN$85)
This exemption does not apply if you’re outside Canada.

Biometrics exemption for permanent residence applicants who have given biometrics within the last 10 years
As a temporary measure, you’re exempt from giving biometrics if you have both of the following:
  • already applied or are applying for permanent residence
  • given your biometrics within the last 10 yeears

For Further clarification-

if you are in Canada and have given fingers prints for study permit and applying for PR you dont need to give Biometrics.
following is the link-
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp

they have made a tool to check eligibility which tells in big bolded letters whether you are in exempt category or not.

I would recommend use the above tool And check
