Sponsor Eligibility Check Stuck (1.2 years)

Hello All,

I have applied for spousal sponsorship (Outland) in March 2020. I only have AOR1 and my application status says "Application Received".

The GCMS notes indicate that sponsor eligibility check is not finalized yet and social assistance check was run whereby nothing was found. As I never took any social assistance. Also it says insufficient proof of income provided (I provided employment letter of my part-time work in Canada), together with strong bank statements.

What are my options now? Will the sponsor eligibility approval be passed or should I forget about the application?

Should I send IRCC a fresh letter of employment?

Thanks!

You should do all of the above and contact your local MP.

Did you meet your RO when you originally applied of meeting the 2 our of 5 years from your landing date? That could be one of the issues. What do you define as strong bank statements that are in your name? Approximate number.

Yes bank statements in my name around $30k. Yes I met the 2 out of 5 years since I already had 3 years left on my PR.

3 years left from the landing date. Assume if you are only making a part-time salary the concern is the 30k will be depleted very quickly.

So this is the reason that sponsor eligibility will not be approved? I do have cash-inflows from the job and also looking for jobs in Covid-19.

How much are you bringing in from your job. Is the job significantly over minimum wage? If you aren't meeting your RO then that could certainly be an issue. You will likely have to provide more information if possible about your finances. Is your spouse working? Do they have savings? Do they have a plan about how to find employment in Canada? What have you been doing to find a job and are there good prospects now that employers are hiring more based on your education and work history? Do you have family in Canada who could provide financial support if ever needed? These are typical things that would come up if you receive a pfl about your finances.

I am in compliant with the RO. I am bringing-in about $3 to $5k every 2-3 months as the work is project based. Also i have savings in the bank. Spouse is not working. But i am meeting my expenses in Canada. Starting MBA in a Canadian university this year which will improve career prospects. Will never seek social assistance.
