Hi. I applied for express entry hoping to get an ITA under CEC. My spouse is already a PR. I wanted to know if I need to provide police certificate from his home country or not? I am confused as he already has his PR he might not need.
I also have a child who is 2 years old and is Canadian citizen. Do I need police certificate for him as well? Please let me know. Thanks.

Thank you. But this still confuses me. My spouse and kid are mentioned on application but they are not a part of my application since they are already PR and citizen. I know I don’t have to apply for my kid but for my spouse, he needs a certificate even when his PR was approved and he is on his way to apply for citizenship?
It doesn’t state there. Can you shed light on it? Thank you.

You must include police certificates when you apply for permanent residence.

Our online system will ask for a police certificate for:

  • you and your family members who are 18 years or older
  • and
  • every country you (or a family member) stayed in during the last 10 years for 6 months or more in a row
