You are wrong. Please read the bi-lateral air corridor agreement between India and Canada. Transits between the two countries are NOT allowed. Only direct flights are. Many of the people you see on those flights likely flew in from countries other than India.

Student travel is essential and non-discretionary according to the government.

Have you been to Pearson airport recently? Assure you that people are arriving by indirect flights.

Part of the answer is to get people vaccinated, Canada been lagging other countries, check the UK where infection rates are relatively low now

You are right. Despite of the slow start, Canada is doing relatively good to vaccinate its population. 33% of population vs 51% of UK Population. Plus geography of the country

“Toronto Public Health (TPH) is investigating COVID-19 cases linked to a quarantine hotel.

TPH confirmed to CP24 Saturday afternoon that the cases are connected to the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport, near Highway 27 and Dixon Road.

"We have assigned staff to initiate an investigation and to work with the facility to identify all cases, and review and advise on all appropriate public health measures and infection prevention and control measures," Dr. Vinita Dubey, the city's associate medical officer of health, said in a statement to CP24.

TPH did not disclose how many confirmed coronavirus cases are associated with the hotel.
"While we appreciate the desire for more information, we must balance the public health reason to release the information requested and the individual's right to the protection of personal health information and right to privacy. TPH does not disclose personal health information related to individual cases and their contacts, including information related to sources of exposure and acquisition."

Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport is one of the 20 government-approved quarantine hotels in the city.”

We aren't really lagging behind most countries and without manufacturing capacity in Canada we can't compete with countries that have been prioritizing vaccinating their citizens first. Getting vaccines doses is not that easy and the rhetoric that she could have obtained vaccines faster had we tried harder is incorrect. Canada is doing pretty well compared to many other countries if you look at the EU, Australia, South Korea, Japan, etc.

Unfortunately predictable since it seems the hotels are running their own quarantine not public health like in other countries. It is really impossible to identify exactly where they got covid. Could be from the airport, flight, hotel, etc.

Look at Australia. Closed their borders early and they have almost no cases at all. They are able to open up despite not having any vaccines at all. It's not hard to tell that travellers are the main source of infections

Same with New Zealand. International flights AND cross border travel with the US is why cases and variants are coming.

They were probably diaspora Indians. What you are saying is simply in-correct as it is not allowed. To enter Canada with indirect flight you have to fly from a an another country, not India. You have to enter the country, not transit through it. Currently no potentially transit country is allowing people from India in.

So your version is correct, others are not... you can transit via Doha provided you have PCR test within 48hrs

Please read the bilateral India-Canada air corridor agreement before making uninformed comments.

Air France nicely explains that transiting is NOT ALLOWED when flying between the two countries.

"In compliance with the scope by authorities in India, travel is not permitted to UK and Canada on Air France flights."

Same is the case with every other carrier that transits between the two countries.

Qatar airport does not have RT-PCR testing at airport, other than in extraneous circumstances, unlike what was claimed above.

In addition, a lot of Canadian nationals flew to India to participate in farmer protests, which had zero social distancing and was responsible for the spread, many bringing back Covid variant with them.

The corridor agreement doesnt apply to all transiting countries but apply to some at the moment, including France from the article. And it doesnt apply on the passport to be more specific if i hold Indian passport and fly from German, then i should be okey. Doha updated its policy yesterday that requires 48hrs test, you dont need transit visa if you dont leave the airport. It is a loophole, even AU Prime Minister confirmed to close it off by 7pm Wedn. Before that, it was possible for AU passengers to transit from Doha.

by the way you may want to go and read it again under:

HEALTH SCREENING FOR TRAVEL TO FRANCE FROM INDIA

it is mentioned UK and Canada that do not allow passengers from India in Air France flight... Others have option 1 and or 2

That's because UK and Canada are part of Air Bubble agreement. Qatar Airways does not even allow you to book flights to Canada till 23 May(even if you will be denied to board). Hamad International airport does not have facility to do the tests, unlike what is claimed above. Refer to this Tweet by Qatar Airways themselves:
