Is there any way I can get an update from IRCC?? It's becoming utterly ridiculous. I submitted my PR application in October 2019 after receiving an ITA. It was due for completion in April 2020. I get it...Corona happened and I could expect some delays, but what I can not fathom is that the last email response I received from IRCC was in June 2020 (8 months ago). I got the typical "you will be contacted once the process is completed or if more information is required," but since then, I have not heard a thing despite sending several follow up emails. I had no way of contacting them so I went to the local Visa Application Centre in my Home Country (Tanzania) where I did my biometrics. They said that I should check with the Embassy as it is a Permanent Residency Application and gave me the email.

What shocked me is that I couldn't even reach the immigration department of my local embassy (The CANADIAN HIGH COMMISSION IN TANZANIA). I sent an email and a reminder. After 2 weeks of no response, I tried calling and was told I need to wait for a month from the time I sent my email since that is their "turn around time." Then I called back and the operator advised me to send another email (specifying it was urgent), I did so and waited another month...nothing happened. In January 2021, I submitted a physical letter to the Embassy, explaining that I am trying to get in touch with them since no one was responding to my emails...no response. I went back and was not allowed to enter their premises so the guards put me in touch with the secretary via phone. She took my number down, apologized that I was being sent around in circles and said she would personally ensure my letter reached the immigration department and would get back to me. Again, nothing. After 6 months of trying to get in touch with the Embassy in my own country, I went back to the Canadian Visa application Centre and explained that I can't reach IRCC and or even the local Embassy and requested that they help connect me with the Embassy's immigration department. Shockingly, the lady at the Canadian Visa office said she can't even help with that "because it is a PR issue." I explained that I am not asking her to take on my personal matter, just assist me to get in touch with the Canadian High Commission's immigration since they have ignored my calls and letters for 5 months. Even after explaining this, she refused and told me I should just continue waiting.

Can anyone let me know what I should do from here? I can't reach IRCC through the Web Portal, I can't reach the Canadian Embassy's immigration department and even the Canadian Visa application Centre do not care to assist in helping me reach out to them. As you can see from the title, my application has been pending since October 2019 over 1 year and 6 months!! Even if Covid is disrupted things, this is beyond unprofessional. I really want to lodge a complaint but can't even do that since IRCC, Canadian Embassy and Canadian Visa Application Centre are the only authorities I know and all of them are unresponsive and extremely nonchalant about it all.

Suggest you join discussions in the Express Entry section of the forum. There are a number of threads there were people are actively discussing application processing delays.

BTW - if you want detailed info on where your application processing stands, you need to order your GCMS notes.

Hi,

I ordered GCMS notes and got a response way back in July 2020. It pretty much stated that all aspects, employment, salary, language skills etc were approved. But since then, I literally have not heard anything back. I could order another one but what would it help if IRCC are silent and unresponsive?
