did they ask you for meds or you did an upfront one? Also when did your copr expire? and which VO ?

Frustrating as ive already started planning my move, the last step would be to resign from work but i cannot do that just yet.

Hi @Aliasoufan @$R27 @sh221b @idhar_chicha @BillyWescott

I was given a remedical request on 8th March 2021 and re-did on 9th March. Passed it on 13 march. No update till 5th april [sent so many emails, webforms, raised technical issues etc]

Finally on 5th April, my GC Key account showed that I have passed my remedical and status changed from Action Required to Submitted.

But today, I receive this email :rolleyes:[Pre 18th March COPR and NDVO]

Action required by April 29, 2021: Confirm that you still want to immigrate to Canada
Your permanent resident (PR) visa has expired. If you are still interested in coming to Canada to become a permanent resident, your action is required immediately.
If you do not respond as requested in this letter, your application for permanent residence will remain closed and you will need to re-apply if you wish to immigrate to Canada in the future.
April 19, 2021

Application number: ******

Dear permanent residence applicant:

You are receiving this email because our records at Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) indicate that:

  • Your permanent residence (PR) application was previously approved and is now closed.
  • The issuance date on the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) document that was sent to you (and your family members, if applicable) was March 18, 2020, or earlier.
  • You (and your family members, if applicable) have not become (a) permanent resident(s) of Canada yet.
  • The validity date on your CoPR(s) (i.e. the date by which you needed to use it to become a permanent resident/to travel to Canada) has passed, meaning your PR visa(s) is/are expired.
  • Any previous immigration medical examination (IME) results for you (and/or your family member(s)) have also expired.
When a PR application is approved, PR visa holders are required to travel to Canada to become permanent residents before the expiry date on the CoPR document. Once a CoPR expires, applicants are normally required to submit a new application if they still want to immigrate to Canada.

However, on an exceptional basis in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC has made various efforts to assist clients who, due to the pandemic, were not able to use their CoPRs before they expired:

  • Until December 2020, it was possible for clients with expired or expiring CoPRs to contact IRCC to request assistance if they were ready to travel to Canada right away.
  • IRCC may also have contacted you by email already to ask whether you and your dependants were willing and ready to travel to Canada.
  • Where possible, IRCC has re-issued PR visa documents electronically and has sent clients Authorization Letters to facilitate travel with expired documents.
Action needed:
If you and your family members (if applicable) are still interested in immigrating to Canada and you would like us to reopen and reassess your application, please reply to this email at ****** before April 29, 2021 and answer the questions using the response letter template below.
When you reply, DO NOT change the subject line of the e-mail. If you change the subject line, it may take longer to review your reply.
After responding, wait for further instructions from us before redoing your medical examination. We will send you the necessary medical form(s).
Once we have sent you the forms, you will have 30 days to do your medical, advise us by email that it has been done, and provide any requested documents. Please note that the results of your new medical examination will be valid for 12 months.

Important: Do not do an up-front medical examination. Completing a new medical examination before IRCC asks you to will delay processing, and may lead to you spending more money to do a new one later on.

Your Application:
Since your CoPR(s) expired without being used, you do not currently have a valid PR visa and your application for permanent residence is closed.
If you confirm that you are still interested in immigrating to Canada and that you would like your application to be re-assessed, IRCC will do the following on a one-time exceptional basis:

  • Reopen your application and review it to determine whether any additional or updated documents are needed to confirm that you (and your family members, if applicable) still meet the statutory requirements for (a) permanent resident visa(s).
  • Send you new medical forms and instructions, and also a request letter if we require more information or updated documents (e.g. valid passport, updated police certificate(s), updated screening forms).
  • Review your application to confirm whether you still meet the requirements for a PR visa.
  • If you still meet the requirements: re-issue your PR visa(s), which you will need to use before the new expiry date.

this is so confusing, good luck to you.

Hey guys!

I just logged into my account and my application has changed from Approved to Submitted.

I had received a "Do you still want to immigrate?" email on 30th March, to which I replied the next day.

At this moment, it is still showing "You passed the medical exam" but the rest of fields have reverted to their pre-approval statuses.

It has been almost 3 weeks from me sending a response and IRCC reopening my application, maybe they are going in a random order or processing requests in batches. Hang on guys who haven't yet seen movement!

Few of us posted it before for your reference:

Option 1: Confirm that you plan to travel to Canada before the validity date above. If you choose
this option, you will be sent a request to submit your passport (which must be valid until at least
the date above) to IRCC for physical reissuance of your CoPR (and your PR visa, if you are a
citizen of a visa required country). Your CoPR will be annotated to indicate that it is a
replacement for a document issued on or before March 18, 2020. If you select this option, you must
use your re-issued CoPR and PR visa before the validity date printed on the new documents expires.
If you do not use them before they expire, you will need to submit a new application if you want to
immigrate to Canada in the future.

Option 2: Do another medical examination. If you select this option, you will be sent a request to
do new medicals (at your own expense) within NINETY (90) calendar days. Your new medicals will be
valid for 12 months from the date of your new examination.
When we receive your updated medical results, we will assess whether any other information needs to
be updated to re-issue your CoPR(s). If you (and your dependants, if applicable) continue to meet
all statutory requirements, we will send you a request to submit your passport(s) for physical
reissuance of your documents, which you will need to use before they expire.

At this point, I'd think the safest way to proceed is to follow their instructions and reply to this email stating you are willing to immigrate. At the end of the questionnaire, you can write in bold that you already received the email and redid the medicals as per their own instructions. Hopefully they will see that they duplicated the process for your application and rectify their mistake.

I just called ircc regarding extension of copr of my wife. Agent told me that she cannot disclose any information regarding the application of my wife. At last when i asked her about the office she told me that it is rapid response office which is working for travel exemptions and they donot have any specific office. It is more than a year we are waiting. Dont know how they are working, how they are picking up the files. So just we have to wait.

Bang-on. This essentially proves that they arent really coordinating. I can understand that IRCC is probably inundated with calls emails messages etc.

But its been over one year of COVID ! How can they still be so disorganized and unstructured!

Most organizations and companies have atleast by now, reworked their processes and got their act together.

I dont want to say this, but IRCC probably seems to be really ill-run

May I ask those who have been reissued a new COPR: how long does IRCC give you until you must land in Canada? Many thanks!

In Canada applicant (not landed yet), outland dependents..

Praise God! Finally guys after more than a year of waiting I received a PPR for my family. The message that I received few days ago in my account that I couldn't open (until now), i guess thats my virtual landing papers. I know because my VO told me before that once Im landed they will request for the passports of my dependents.

..Pre march 2020 COPR
..Expired April 2020
..Multiple webforms were sent, multiple generic response received, multiple calls were made
..Sept 2020..received the 4pt email
..October 2020..received refusal letter as their medical have expired
..November 2020...remedical done..no medical request as they already mentioned in refusal letter that once we demonstrate the requirements that they'd mentioned, to send them a webfoorm again.
..Dec 2020..acknowledgement email that they have received the documents that i sent(emedical form)
..February 2020, i emailed my VO office to make a follow up and mentioned that my dependents are done with their remedical. Apparently, they asked me to email them the emedical forms.
...March 2020, 2 weeks after i replied, received an email from VO that my dependents papers are almost complete. I just need to get landed first before they issue PPR. My file was referred to in-canada office
..April 8, a month after that email i havent received any words from in Canada office, so i emailed my VO again to ask which office did they forwarded my file. They said its in Montreal office. However, they did make follow-up themselves and requested expediting my file. The following day I received a message in my gc account which i couldn't open until now.
..6 days after, received a PPR for my family.

There you go guys! That's my journey.. lots of disappointments, worries, tears, . Don't give up guys! Yeah i know its easier said than done. Remember the promise of God to you and your family and the One Who give the promise. Just hold on onto that ( yeah i held onto that). Keep the faith.

"When the time is right, I the Lord, will make it happen." Isaiah 60:22

Thank you everyone for all your guidance and kind words..
