I got a ghost update on my file but then it went back to submitted, does that consider an update?

Fake GU's what is the supposed to mean?Fake GUs appearing in system in the last one hour for many ...watch out
This usually happens when a backend process execute in the PR Processing application system. Some are intentional upgrade for status update and other are unintentional (due to a bug in the software). so don't give importance to these kind of low level updatesFake GU's what is the supposed to mean?
I didnt get any GU so im pretty confident those GU's might not be a fake ones...thats how much im so sure about GU's because if i see a GU in my profile it could be either fake one (glitch) or an error...jokes aside im guess that might not be a glitch..wait for some goodnews whoever got GU'sThis usually happens when a backend process execute in the PR Processing application system. Mine is May 16 AOR and my file with the cousin of your officer- JS13765I didnt get any GU so im pretty confident those GU's might not be a fake ones...thats how much im so sure about GU's because if i see a GU in my profile it could be either fake one (glitch) or an error...jokes aside im guess that might not be a glitch..wait for some goodnews whoever got GU's

Makes sense but i guess during months of feb-march do you think they were still.working from home? I mean now they might be but before this stay at home order is back...I’m thinking these officers need to go into the office for the backlogged files like ours, hence the delay. Newer files from August are maybe easily assessed from home and that is why we were seeing trickles when they went in and approved a few applications last month but now with the stay at home order, we’re in no man’s land. Any theories?

It's a good news, but meanwhile it's so unfair that the final decision comes so late after all the stages are passed. If everything has a "green light", why do we have to wait months before the final decision?A positive boost for all of us here waiting.

“If your application has started processing, it cannot be rejected, unless you do not meet the eligibility criteria. After the application processing starts, a decision has to be given.”
So with eligibility passed and some background checks passed, and even for some of us here with everything passed - the tunnel is longer but it surely has light at the end. This keeps me positive in these stressful times -
All’s well that ends well
Our officer is gonna wake up one day and approve us all, albeit whenever that can be with a painful wait.
If you read this amazing post from a forum user, it gave me some relief and motivation too -

Best of luck and I wish this misery ends in April for us all.
Certain processing aspects need to be done in their offices for security reasons. IRCC explained this to an extentAll our applications are digital any where it can be accessed
I am Inland CEC, single applicant. NOC 2171. Straight forward file, and all good as per GCMS notes. Last time I heard was in Feb end that Eligibility passed, Criminality in Progress and Security Not Started. After that I didn't contact IRCC and waiting... They just think my NOC is not essential in these COVID times, maybeIt's a good news, but meanwhile it's so unfair that the final decision comes so late after all the stages are passed. Do you have any update on your application? I never asked if you are inland or outland
So this might explain the delays for the older files. Officers assigned to our applications may be working from home and our files are at that stage where they need to get into the office to finalize them.Certain processing aspects need to be done in their offices for security reasons. Yup. Some stages can be passed "at home" but the officer needs to go in to manually update the results in the GCMS, hence why there are instances where applicants pass all stages in a single day. Obviously not every IRCC office is operating this way,So this might explain the delays for the older files. Officers assigned to our applications may be working from home and our files are at that stage where they need to get into the office to finalize them.
