So you applied to a thesis program without knowing what it is... sounds like you have a lot of work to do
When applying to graduate programs, you would think people would research whether the program is thesis/research or course based.

Getting accepted for a Master's is an uphill struggle. Not only have you got to find a suitable supervisor, it is also dependant on the funding available and if the research subject aligns with the supervisor's speciality. You will find most of them won't even respond to your enquiry.

Yes
I knew that it is thesis based.. but i was unaware that the international students are supposed to have a supervisor before hand. I thought that once i am there, then i would be asked to select a topic of research.
There was nobody to guide me and this is the first time i am doing something by myself. I have now sorted out professors and prepared a template to send the emails. I hope someone selects me

prepare a good writeup on your research interests and a purpose statement too. it'll help your case. also, if you have working experience, it'll be good to send them your CV

I have been a participant in cultural activities at University, state, zonal as well as national level. Do i need to add those achievements in my cv?
