Hi Everyone,

I'm a permanent resident and I sponsored my wife under outland spousal sponsorship. I applied in Feb 2020 and the expected wait time or process time was up to Feb 2021. I came to India in Oct 2020 thinking that she might get PR by Feb or Mar 2021 but then the UK variant happened and my return trip got cancelled and Toronto is now in lockdown. I'm still here living with my wife since Oct 2020. I heard that the max I can stay outside of Canada is 6 months. Is this true? If so was there any change made as an exception to this time limit due to COVID?

Thanks

Outside Canada "short trips" only. The six months is invented.

Not aware of any relaxation of this policy.
