I got visa approved for ubc dap. Ask me amything
Thank you for letting me know and congrats!!!

Did you apply via SDS and how long did it take for you to get approved Visa? Are you joining DAP this May intake or September intake?

As far as I know and as I have consulted the International Student Advising, UBC DAP scheme does not support SDS/ upfront tuition and it's so hard to get the 1-year upfront receipt (for the SDS requirement). The only terms which are considered 'one year' is winter terms from September to the next April. Other terms are too short to be considered as 'one year' and I cannot make one year payment.

I'm struggling to obtain the receipt for first-year upfront payment @@. and I'm having to wait till mid Jul/2021 to pay the tuition, don't know if I can have the visa approved on time for Sep intake.

Would love to know how your application process was.

Hello Everyone,

I had applied for UBC DAP program for May'22 intake. I'm having a doubt regarding the PGWP duration post completion of the course and the response seems very vague from University. Hence checking if anyone got any leads in this regard. Also how is the course will taught in future will this be Online class or classroom sessions.

Appreciate any leads in this regard.

How long is the program full time?
That's what really confusing the duration of this course

In this link : Overview - Diploma in Accounting | UBC Sauder School of Business its mentioned as 16 to 24 months

  • I would like to start UBC DAP in September 2021. What courses am I required to take in order to obtain the Diploma? What is the program length?
Students are required to complete 11 core courses in order to obtain the Diploma in Accounting credential. These courses include: BUSI 293, BUSI 294, BUSI 335, BUSI 370, BUSI 393, BUSI 353, BUSI 354, BUSI 355, BUSI 450, BUSI 453, and BUSI 455.
Students can complete UBC DAP in 12 months of full-time study or 24 months of part-time study.
I would like to start UBC DAP in January 2022. What courses am I required to take in order to obtain the Diploma? What is the program length?
UBC Diploma in Accounting Program (DAP) has been required to make minor program changes in order to align with the updated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Competency Map and CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) entrance requirements. Therefore, students are required to complete 15 core courses in order to obtain the Diploma in Accounting credential.
Students can complete UBC DAP in 16 months of full-time study or 24 months of part-time study.
    Email response from UBC :
Thank your for writing to us with your queries. Students are eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) upon completion their final term of studies in the Diploma in Accounting Program. As UBC DAP is offered in a flexible format that allows students to be continuously enrolled full-time or adjust their enrolment each term as needed, it’s entirely at IRCC’s discretion on the PGWP duration granted and our office is unable to provide any further details on what this duration will be as this will vary from student to student.

As we are transitioning back to our regular schedule after being online for the last 16 months due to the pandemic, we will continue to offer online courses in addition to in-person classes for the next year to provide students who started the program online with a path to complete the program online, inclusive only of the core courses required for program completion. However, we’re not able to advise at this stage whether all courses will continue to be offered online after this point.

Full time is 16 months so you will get a work permit that is over 16 months.
