thank for the clarification @legalfalcon. I am inland CEC applicant. I dont know why its taking long time for Security. My work permit is expiring on May 8th, that could be a reason for the delay? @legalfalcon
On my GCMS notes, Due date for the security is 25 May 2021. It means the security is in progress?

Hi @legalfalcon

I have a quick question. I'm a CEC Inland applicant with AOR Mar 03, 2020. It's over a year, still criminality is in process, security not started.

I have an emergency, need to travel to India - my home country. Currently I'm employed and going to continue to work from there remotely.

My PGWP is valid till Dec 31, 2021. I plan to stay in India for a couple of months & return back

I know that I can re-enter Canada with the PGWP as I have a job, but what will be the scenario if I get the CoPR when I'm in India.

My medicals have already expired with no news of extension.

Please suggest.

Thanks a lot!
@legalfalcon could you please look into my query?

Hello @legalfalcon You might have explained this in past but couldn't get any details about it.

We (me on PGWP and my wife on dependent Work permit) applied for Express Entry (CEC Inland) on 3rd March 2020.
We received a request for IMM5406e on 11th August 2020 and was received by IRCC the next day.

Called IRCC on 24th August and was informed that all the stages are clear.
Couple of days ago I called again and was told by the agent that "The file is under Information Sharing Status".

Can you please explain how the file is under information sharing after all the stages (Eligibility, Criminality and Security) are clear?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @legalfalcon . I have previously posted my query and you have been very helpful.
I am inland applicant PNP Express Entry March 10, 2020 AOR. I have dependent applicant outland.

My PGWP is expiring on June 4, 2021. I am planning to apply for PGWP extension under new public policy as I am eligible for it. Is it wise to apply for SOWP for my spouse who is dependent outland applicant on my EE application?
Is it going to affect my WP application? Do you have any link where I can get help regarding the process and steps of doing it?

Or would you suggest that I should just apply Extension of PGWP for myself only and wait for EE application.

Current status of EE application:
AOR March 10, 2020
Eligibility in Process
Criminality passed
Medicals Expired
Security not started.

Thanks.

Hi @legalfalcon, I have applied my PR from inside Canada. It’s been a year am waiting for approval now. Due to family emergency I travelled out of Canada. Even my TRV is in process so I can’t re-enter in Canada.
I didn’t communicate this to IRCC yet. Do I need to?
What if I am not able to come to Canada on my TRV will my application will still valid as inland?
What if I get copr then can I travel based on PRTD?
Please suggest.

I checked with my lawyers on this and they said that You dont need to redo medical unless IRCC asks for it. and I have seen it that medicals are got extended for 80-90% inland applicants

When you get status on the phone, it is not always accurate and what they say all stages passed, most likely they may only be looking at eligibility.

Info sharing is very generic where IRCC exchanges info from five eye countries. The Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance composed of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These partner countries share a broad range of intelligence with one another in one of the world's most unified multilateral arrangements. See https://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/cnt/ntnl-scrt/fv-cntry-mnstrl-en.aspx

Each of there countries has an agreement with Canada under which the info sharing happens. There is nothing much to be concerned about. To read more on info sharing, see https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/resources/manuals/in/in01-eng.pdf

In some cases info sharing may be complete but may not have been updated in your file.

When you call IRCC, make sure that your ask specifically about eligibility, info sharing, criminality etc.

Under the immigration law there is nothing as inland and outland. This is just the processing based on your visa office, i.e. after your application is approved, if you are in Canada, you will be sent a COPR by email, if you are outside Canada you will be asked to submit your passport.

Irrespective of whether you are in Canada or not, your PR application will continue to progress.

If you have change your country of residence, you should inform IRCC and update your address so that your PPR can be sent with instructions to submit your passport to your LVO.

If you do not update your address, and instead get a COPR, then you will have to apply for a PRTD, which again will take 60-90 days and will cost.

So if you do not intend going to Canada anytime soon, update your address.

The WP application is processed on its own merit and SOWP is dependent on your WP. Unless your WP is approved, SOPW will not be. So it doe snot matter wether you apply for SOWP or not. If your spouse is working or intends to work, apply for it.

Not like there's a shortage of these here...but this is going to be a rant post. Although it's redundant at this point and complaining here will not solve any problems, I needed to off-load this somewhere.

AOR 2 March 2020. Originally applied as FSW-O, but came to Canada late last year on a closed work permit and now my dependents are also here with me. All stages have been passed and GCMS notes reflect "Final: Approved" since January 2021. I can even see a COPR number assigned to me in the "Finalize Application" section of the GCMS notes and I'm not in the "COVID RFV" group. We've literally just been waiting to receive our COPRs for the last 2 months now.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of this unreasonably long wait and it's starting to take a toll on my mental health. If all the stages were passed and the application was "approved" in January, and all applicants (myself and my dependents) are currently in Canada, why must it take so long to be given the COPRs??? It's one thing to have the stages (criminality, security, etc.) taking longer than usual due to COVID-19, but here we have a case where the only thing left is for the final communication to be sent from the IRCC and it's taking forever. If it was a situation where we were still outland and the IRCC's policy decision was to freeze the issuance of COPRs for individuals outside of Canada during COVID-19 (thus leaving us stuck without the PR for some time), I would probably understand. However, it's irritating to know that the application has already been approved, COPR numbers have been assigned, we are all in Canada and we still can't get our PR finalized yet.

It has been over a year since receiving an AOR and still no PR, even despite having the biometrics completed and medicals passed very quickly (within 2 weeks of receiving the AOR). I'm currently in a full-time, permanent job and my income falls under a relatively high tax bracket. I'm paying plenty dues to this Government and trying to raise a family in this reputable first-world country. What do I get in return from the IRCC keeping me in a "temporary" status?

1. Banks will only issue a secured credit card to me, with relatively low credit limits
2. I'm being declined for financing/leasing of a car, even despite having built a decent credit score already and being easily able to afford it
3. It was a challenge to even convince a landlord to rent an apartment to us
4. We can't qualify for certain Government benefits, especially for our child
5. I can't open an RESP for our child (no permanent SINs)
6. Notwithstanding all the above, I'm generally just seen/treated as a "temporary outsider"

I've sent dozens of Webforms by now, and of course I'm given the same generic response every single time about "processing times during the pandemic". Frankly, COVID-19 has been impacting Canada for over a year and that is more than enough time to adjust the operations accordingly. Do whatever it takes; I simply cannot fathom this COVID-19 excuse anymore. COVID-19 should not be an excuse for a significant Government directive as this to have fallen so far behind. How long will this continue?

On one hand, we individuals with AORs from early 2020 are met with significant delays and excuses from the IRCC, and on the other hand, they're finalizing CEC applications submitted way after our AORs and also inviting 27,000 people to apply in a single draw? Seriously??? I'm happy for the CEC candidates, but at the same time, this is just unfair and disrespectful to us in the FSW and other streams. Why not clear the backlog first, before adding more to the workload that you claim is already imploding?

I'm trying to hang in there and patiently wait my turn to get the PR, but it's really getting harder with every day that passes.

Hoping everyone here gets their PR soon. Kudos to you all for maintaining your patience.

The WP application is processed on its own merit and SOWP is dependent on your WP. Unless your WP is approved, SOPW will not be. So it doe snot matter wether you apply for SOWP or not. If your spouse is working or intends to work, apply for it.
I am in same situation. These days BOWP are coming through in 4-6 weeks.
1. So if I apply for my BOWP and on the same file apply for SOWP for my wife then that means her SOWP has more chance of being processed quicker?
2. Will they give result together? or they can approve BOWP and hold or reject SOWP?
3. If they are processed different then how much delay can we expect for SOWP.
4. What are the chances of getting approved given the current circumstances?
5. My wife is in India. Can she travel on SOWP right now? with AL. Have you observed any current scenario.

@legalfalcon Thanks a ton for your help and guidance here. We really do appreciate your efforts.
