NOC 2283 for Computer Engineering Graduate is ok?

I am a Computer Engineering graduate and planning to apply for SINP OID. Would there be a problem if I choose NOC 2283 instead of NOC 2171? I heard that SINP is very strict with the NOC choice and must match with education. Computer Engineering is not mentioned in the required education for NOC 2283. Pls advise... Thank you.

What does your employment letter state? Do you have a bachelors? Technicians are typically educated at college and don’t need a degree. It may or may not be an issue. You will not know until you get invitation and apply with your documents. Yes it could be an issue if officers think you are trying to circumvent licensing requirements.

My job description for almost 10 years has the closest match with NOC 2283. But I'm hesitant to use it because computer engineering is not mentioned in its required education. Well the NOCs are very different as 2283 are technicians (those who fix/troubleshoot the systems). Only you know the best NOC for your job.

I am a software test engineer. Pls advise if education in computer engineering is a match to NOC 2283 in Canada. I am from Philipines and computer engineering graduates here are working as software test engineers but not sure in Canada.

If you are a test engineer then you are NOC 2147. That will match your education too.
