How long do they usually take to return the passport after approval?
Before covid, people used to have it back within 15 days of delivery. Now not timeline. I have seen some people's passport dispatched same day of approval, some people's passport hasn't been dispatched even after 1 month of approval.

No rule. I've seen people wait 11 days for the tracker to activate and someone this week was a few hours after the approval.
Just like anything with IRCC you have to wait.
Seriously, the last part of the process is like a black box, you have no idea what's going on. And it is so frustrating because there is no communication from their end also.

Ideally, the last part of the entire process should be super fast and should run like a well oiled machine, however, these guys have created a bottleneck there. Even if the staff is limited, it should not take so much time. How could they sit on people's passports for months, it is one of the most important documents. This is ridiculous. Sorry about the rant, been waiting for almost 2 years now ever since the ITA.

Hello Everyone,

Could someone please help. It urgent.

My AOR is 5th March 2020, and PPR is January 15th 2021. In the mean time, my employer offered to apply for work permit which they applied in November 2020 (was waiting to hear back on my PR application but didn't see much progress on my application), so even my work permit was approved on January 15th 2021. I managed to do the PR application by myself but \the work permit application was managed by an attorney.
I decided to go ahead with my PR and sent out my passports on January 19th 2021 and it reached Ottawa on January 20th 2021. On February 17th 2021, IRCC got back saying that the photos are not according to the specifications (had gotten it done from a professional photographer itself) and requested for a new set of photographs. I'm not sure how but IRCC made this communication (through email) to the attorney who managed my work permit application. The attorney forwarded the email and I sent over the new set of photographs on February 19th 2021. It was supposed to reach today i.e., February 22nd but due to severe weather conditions all the packages are getting delayed.
IRCC has clearly mentioned in the email that they have sent to the attorney, the a reply must be done with the tracking number. When I reached out to the attorney, he says that he cannot reply since he didn't handle my PR application.
Would it be ok if I send an email to the email address specified in my PPR 'IRCC.Agent-Agent.IRCC@cic.gc.ca' and let them know about that I have sent out the new set of photographs.

Thanks

I am in the same boat with recent photo rejection -my PPR package was delivered on January 25th, 2021, I and got a request for new photos on Feb 17 (my photos were also taken by a photographer who does VISA services and has done portrait photos w/ Canadian standards in the past!).

This is the email address I received the photo request from: IRCC.InformationClient-ClientInformation.IRCC@cic.gc.ca
My personal opinion only -I would send an email to this address and copy your attorney, the agent address in your PPR and CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca and keep the email subject the same as they sent to your attorney (the email subject for me was: application# - NEW PHOTOS REQUIRED) or alternatively, you could reply to the email forwarded to you by your attorney and copy all these addresses. It looks like the most important thing is that they can locate your reply and the date of the original photo request email via your application number.

I hope your situation resolves soon!

Thank you so much for the quick response. Have sent the email to all of the email address mentioned above. Hopefully it'll be done soon.

Hello All,

I have just mailed my son's passport which is yet to be delivered.

From the updates it looks like I have to wait atleast 3 months. I might have to move in 2 months and want to know if any one has tried Canada Post’s Mail Forwarding Service??
Will this service work in case we change the address?

The number I dialed is 8882422100 and youll have to get to the point where you check on the status of your application then you hit 0 to talk to an agent. Itll be around a 30 minute wait but you wont always get through because it seems like they will only put a limited number of callers on hold. The sequence is going to be something like 1-1-2-3-0. The 3 is used if your application number starts with "F". The agents are not always helpful but it might be worth a shot for you.

I didnt use textnow

Best of luck

Congrats, it seems like Ottawa is picking up the pace with passports now. Just hoping they ship them out very soon. I see a few people that were approved back in December still waiting for their passport to be shipped out. If anyone has more insight please share.

Thanks buddy. In this thread also I saw people getting request for photos and stuff. So it definitely looks like they have started processing it.
