Hello seniors,

I am a software engineer planning to apply for a pr.

I have been working part time while studying Tunisia with the same company i am working with right now.

I held a ppsition of software developer from 10/2017 till 02/2019.

Did my graduation project with them from 02/2019-06/2019.
I graduated university and became qualified to work as a software engineer in 07/2019.

As i held the position of Chief technology officer from 02/2019 till today.

I only have payslips from 09/2019, since i signed the contract. Before that, i received monthly payments but without a proof of employment as i couldn t study and work part time in my country, despite the fact it was outside study hours.

I will be only claiming points from 09/2019 as IRCC stated the qualification requirements for 2173 and 2174, and the fact that i dont have payslips before that.

The start date in my employment certificate is from 02/2019, would it be a problem?

I heard about the work section in personal history, and i am willing to disclose everything there. Would it cause problems?

What do u suggest i do?

Can’t you ask the company to amend the dates?

As long the your reference letters show all the details IRCC needs, it’s okay. Your payslips and tax slips are just supporting documentation. IRCC will review your reference letters first.

Unfortunately its difficult and my employer could notice, furthermore:
  1. I already used this experience in my linkedin and a canada temporary foreign worker LMIA application.
  2. I don t want to take the risk of counting my student experience as its difficult to prove pay.
  3. The website states towards the minimum requirements which i already have 1y6 months.
Is it okay to submit with different dates and explain? Or do i really need to change the letter and disclose the rest of the period in personal history?

In the link I provided above, it says that co-op/internship years can be counted under Foreign work experience and would fetch points.
Plus if your reference letters provide all the required details by IRCC including your salary, you pay stubs would only act as supporting documents.

Not sure what you mean by “minimum requirements”.

Wait for others on the start dates as this is the first time one read about this kind of situation. Normally, applicants just copy whatever start and end dates mentioned in the reference letter.

The rest of your activities (not claiming points for) would need to be declared in the personal history.
