I spoke with my MP's office today, they told me to expect anywhere from 180-250 day delay on top of the 1 year time line, also that applications get lost all the time, and they get cases that have taken up to 3 years all the time... so yup... there's that. Right now they are working from home, but they don't always have access to the resources they need.
Immigration is pretty incompetent by the sounds of it.
This is completely bizarre by the sound of it. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait for long to receive DM/PPR (Ottawa VO)

Anyone else who got status as DM on online tool, but received no email ?
I was able to see the status as DM a month ago, but haven't received any detailed email saying approved or rejected.
DM is usually a positive from what I have seen.

180 day delay on top of a year. Possibly for some VO which I have been reading. But others possibly shorter.
depends on what they need to complete the files too, since they no longer have all the resources they used to have available to them

Ottawa not doing anything anymore is driving me nuts too.
Probably because of these new travel restrictions, they don't want anyone travelling this year. Imagine if someone gets DM and PPR. they have everything done and ready to come to Canada. On top of the travel ticket you have to pay for, you also need to pay 2000 $ for 3 night stay at government facility. International Flights are very limited, hence expensive. If your spouse is not in North America, Total cost of travelling could reach upto 4000 $ CAD.

Ppr is still being given from other vo’s. Spouses are exempt from travel restrictions.

Can you stop literally making things up? You can quarantine for 3 days at a hotel of your choice while awaiting your airport test result, this will not cost $2000. The government facilities are only for those who test positive upon arrival. The chance of testing negative before coming to Canada and then testing positive isn't super high, so this won't affect nearly as many people as the media is making it out. Also, these measures are aimed at jerks going for cruises abroad, not for people reuniting with family. Reuniting with family is considered "essential", these new measures only apply to those traveling for non-essential reasons.

Are you sure about that? The government website says you must spend those 3 days at specific approved hotels. It also says, "travellers can expect to pay significantly more than the cost of a traditional hotel room booking."

The key here is that they are saying it will apply to non-essential travel like vacation. Spouses coming here is essential to be with the family. I don't think it will apply to us.

“People who travel by air for non-essential reasons, such as vacation, will face new measures and expenses when they return to Canada.”

Unfortunately you are wrong, when they come into force, EVERYBODY coming into Canada by air right now unless you are considered essential will have to do the 3 day quarantine at a hotel approved by the gov't, not just a hotel you choose to stay at. Once in effect you will have to pre-book a room there and provide proof of it before you will be allowed on a plane. There are people coming from USA that think they will get around the restriction of the 3 days hotel quarantine by driving across the border as opposed to flying. The gov't is working on a plan to prevent that as well. Details not announced yet.

I believe spouses will have a chance to have it weaved, because it is unfair treatment. Many of us have been saving some money to start a new life together, not to throw our money away and pay for something that you don't want or need.
