Hi guys! Hope there are same situation as our application. Got my CSQ certificate year 2017, applied for federal 2018 then got married last october 2020 (medical passed feb 2020) and added him to my ongoing application same month last year. Now, do I need to apply for my spouse CSQ even if he is under my application? Appreciate your response guys!

I think you are right, i also did not see where to apply for another CSQ during the PR application process! it's mentioned only in the Guide7000 for the PR under QSWProg. May i know how did you update your file ?

She definitely needs CSQ for her husband, no doubt about it. Even my kids have CSQ and they are minors. When you sponsorship someone you apply to the federals first and after that they will ask you to apply for CSQ.

Same for me, less than 1 months for both notes I ordered. The first time they they gathered my data a couple of days after my request and waited weeks to send it to me, the second time the other way around.
@dearmilkyway , I think we have very similar timelines. The only thing that I may think could delay my application is that I traveled a lot to different countries, in the last 10 years. Some of them may have flags and may required additional checks. Is it the same for you?
Yes, I have been in many countries in the last 10 years.

But this can't be the real reason because it is clearly stated in my notes that security processing is still NOT started.

If it would have started and we would have been waiting for a long time during this process, I would say that you might be right.

Btw; this is my 4th GCMS notes, not the first.
Two of my notes are delivered in 35 days. One is delivered in around 90 days, and it took total of 117 days for the last one.

Yes. I think that the applications that need a security screening are the ones that are stuck. Otherwise, I've heard of people who've applied 5-6 months after me who have already received their PR.

I see "not started" on my security check as well and my CBSA notes say:

Request received: Feb 2019
Due date: Feb 2020
Status: Not started

I asked them what it has not been started or if it is true that it has not started yet. They said that they can't make and comments on the status of security checks due to security reasons.

I have the same case. I am not sure why people who received pre-arrival letter starting august 2020 are getting their COPR before us who received it in March 2020. I didn't visit other conuties than canada but I am lebanese maybe it raises flags no one knows. My brother had also his COPR delayed for 10 months (express entry) both we have families. I noticed that applicants with families almost always face delays in processing, is this your case?

I am a single applicant. I don't think families are cause of delays. I know 1 person with family that got its PR in 15 months.

Single applicants get a bit faster PRs normally but in this current situation, it is total hit or miss.

I know a guy from this forum who got his PR in 11 months (2018 October applicant, outland from India, has 4 family members)
This guys case simply breaks down all of the prejudices/assumptions that we made.

I remember even this guy's job was not prioritised like the others in medical sectors, software or IT domains.
As far as I know, he is still unemployed. He was simply lucky.

That guy could have been the troll of this forum that was all the time writing non-sense.

I just have one family member with me in Canada, my wife. IMO it is almost impossible to find a pattern in what the IRCC does, so I've stopped trying. But I have noticed that single applicants do tend to get their applications processed faster - maybe just a coincidence.

My previous GCMS notes suggest there's a deadline to my "security" step, i.e. Feb 7, 2021. However, I think it's just bull poop because I assume there's no way they'd suddenly finish my security check in a few days.

One more theory I have is that they don't tell us the status of security screening on purpose. This might make sense to a certain degree because if the applicant is indeed a dangerous person and they find out that they are under a security screening, they might leave Canada. However, it's just a theory. The truth is a mystery.

I wish they prioritize inland applicants soon. Good luck to all of us.

Inlands are already prioritised both in MIDI (via PNP) and Federal phases (because of COVID restrictions).
It is outland applicants' files that actually increase the average processing time consistently.
Wish you a good luck.

No, he was not troll. I spoke with him on the phone during my application process. He was very helpful and nice person.
Also we've sent messages each other via this forum DM and even he texted me several months back via WhatsApp.
He told me that he is in Canada and searching jobs for a year.

I think that for the security check they don't have a deadline. I'm stuck in security check for a long time and the only crime I committed was to wait on stop sign 2 seconds less that I'm supposed. Don't assume thing for people you don't know. If you have an extended travel history or come from/visited certain countries, work for gov. institutions is most likely to have an extend background check. Do you think that a real criminal will apply for PR? Check your theory!

I think that it's really bad time to arrive wright now in Quebec. It's a problem to buy a jacket or boots. IRCC should now better and clear all this inland applicants, especially the one with a job.
