Not an issue. You just can't be on social assistance.

You will need to show that you are both able to support yourselves without government help. If this reduction in hours is just temporary then it shouldn’t be a problem but would suggest looking for a 2nd job if you both have limited savings and your hours aren’t increasing.

Do they check the eligibility of the sponsor once again, following file move to respected visa office??
I got the sponsor approval long ago. Then file moved to london uk.
On enquiring, we got to know they r assessing the sponsor and applicant eligibility.
But why sponsor again??
Aren't they mean to work only on principle applicant??

If you're concerned, order gcms notes.

They can check at any time when they feel need to. Clear reasons may be citizen sponsoring outland (eg check that indeed plan to return to Canada), Pr sponsor - they can check whether eligible as in still residing in Canada.

These are just examples, other reasons possible.

I understand.
My husband is Canadian Citizen. Paying all the taxes. Never got any welfare from govt.
He got sponsorship approval within a month following submitting application.
The letter clearly says u r eligible to sponsor ur spouse.
But now london uk office is again looking into it. Why wasting time

I could speculate about it but you're best to order the GCMS notes.

By the way, I don't see how you got this information (as in how did you inquire), but it's also possible that the language you were sent ("On enquiring, we got to know they r assessing the sponsor and applicant eligibility") was boilerplate language that doesn't mean much, i.e. that they are not actively assessing the sponsor's eligibility per se. The entire process is 'assessing eligibility' of everything about the file, so it's a statement that is mostly always true and doesn't tell you much of anything.

We got it from MP.
Copy and pasting the exact words.

  • The initial assessment to ensure the sponsor meets all the sponsorship requirements is still in process.
  • The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if the sponsored person (the applicant) meets the eligibility requirements,
    • the assessment for the applicant is still in process at the Canadian visa office in London, United Kingdom.

Only a somewhat informed guess, but this language after receiving sponsor approval suggests to me that this is form language and doesn't mean much and that this is routine. That said, they can check or confirm sponsor eligibility at any time if they believe there is a need to.

Is your spouse in Canada?

Yes he lives in Canada.
I hope its just routine step.
i was under impression that this is sydney nova scotia' s job.
and London uk's is applicant only.

Unless there's some specific reason to be concerned, I would start from assumption that this is just form-letter reply language with no specific meaning for your case.

It's Sydney's 'job' to do the initial assessment; the final sign-off by whoever is authorised to make final decision will still check the previous assessment by Sydney, even if all they're doing is confirming against a checklist.

If you wish to get more info, apply for gcms notes.
