Hello all,

I am expecting my PPR soon and my passport expires September 2021, To be proactive, I want to renew my passport this month as they say it should have at least 6 months validity by the time IRCC receives it. I wanted to register for the application online but saw a note there that I should call The Nigerian embassy in ottawa first to be sure of their hours and timings during covid before I register and pay.

I have been calling and sent emails, no reply yet. Please what do I do? Do I just apply and pay, then book n appointment and go there? Has anyone recently renewed passport here? Please help! Thanks!

Applied: 13 November 2020
Upfront Medical passed: 20 November 2020
Biometric: Valid till 2028 from previous Visitor Visa
Eligibility: Not stated
BVL: waiting
PPR: waiting

I already have Visitor Visa valid till October 2022.

Question 1:
Why is my eligibility not started or does that mean something is wrong?

Question 2:
if study permit approved, will they still ask for PPR for visa stamping since I have valid TRV?

Any experienced feedback will be appreciated.

I have raise webform but no response.

Hello omofar

I haven’t applied for my study Visa yet . I have an admission for September 2021 for an IT program diploma course . But I am yet to graduate university here in Nigeria

I would like to know what I need to do to increase my chances of being approved .

my concern is on the bank statement issue
How much exactly must I have in the account at the point of printing?

Good afternoon House, I want oga Omofar or others to help answer this question. If my bank is not offering the my bank statement but I have d required amount of 30k cad, can I transfer the money to my other bank account (which issues mybankstatment), so that I can then get the mybankstatment from them. Also, will the sudden inflow of money into this account as will be shown in the12 months transaction history be frowned upon by the visa officer?

I think you may have to send the 12 month account history of where you have the 30k CAD and also show a. proof on how the 30k CAD leaves from your account to the new account I.e the balance on the 12 month account statement must be 30k CAD minimum and I suggest here that the time frame transaction between both account should be 2-3 days.
You can write a letter explaining the reason for the transaction OR you wait for a regular processing. We have no clue yet from IRCC on this NSE route and I know First Bank was not on the list. We therefore wait to see how IRCC will react to all these. In due time, I believe IRCC will make it like the sds/non-sds option for Nigerians. (MY THOUGHT)

Secondly please how do I write a strong letter to convince the VO of my intention to return(N.B I have no travel history)
Also,if I state that I intend to pursue a doctorate after the master' will it help my case?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Good morning everyone,

I hope we are all doing well.

Concerning the Nigerian Student Express (NSE), -the so-called pilot program to fast-track study applications made by Nigerians, I think it is a waste of time, effort and resources. I genuinely thought it would speed up my client's application, I made her write the IELTS, got the statement of account, all within the 30days, submitted it and till now no response, that about 3 weeks ago. The IRCC are generally slow and it does not matter what you do to try to fast-track your application they will still waste your time, so in the end its not worth it in my own opinion.

If you would like to be considered for the NSE route, make sure you fulfil all the NSE conditions from the outset of your application. So ensure your my bank statement is already in place and you have taken the IELTS before submitting the application and you submit it all with the original application, otherwise don't bother responding to them should they request IELTS and my bank statement from you. Just wait for 30 days and they will return to your application. It is very likely they never reviewed the application in the first place before requesting for those documents, because if they did, upon receipt of the IELTS result and myBankstatement, it shouldn't take up to a week for them to request for one's passport.

Again, don't put all your eggs in one basket, consider other locations as well.

Cheers

My two cents, if you intend to re-apply:
1. Try to get the GMC notes first, and respond accordingly.

Assuming you were denied based on the diploma program you chose, then I strongly recommend
i. you either go for a postgraduate program. OR
ii. You write a CONVINCING statement of purpose if you don't want to go for a postgraduate program explaining with EVIDENTIAL reasons why you are not interested in postgraduate program, as regards to your career progression.
In this case, your SOP will have to show a strong connection between your first degree, work experience and future aspirations (which will be realistic with today's Nigerian economy as a strong ECONOMIC/LUCRATIVE reason to return back to your home country NOT JUST your family/assets though they count) on why you opted for a diploma program.
Thanks for this advice. How can I apply for the GMC and how long does it take to get?

Is it possible to be granted study permit for a postgraduate diploma or a certificate course to a degree holder after a study permit refusal for a polytechnic diploma in Canada? Is it possible to change SOP and LOE as many times as you apply for study permit? I will appreciate honest response.

Hello,

Its very feasible. The onus is on you to repackage your new application to meet the SP requirements and to address the VO's concerns as see fit.

As long as your situation has changed, there is no harm using a new letter to explain your current situation, study plan and tackling the refusal reasons. So, you are on the right path.

BTW, what does your GCMS Notes say?
