Can I accept an invitation into CEC stream and segue into PNP stream?

I made a mistake with my PR application so it got rejected.
I will have my PNP nomination applied to my EE profile - eventually.
I am scared that the PNP people will take too long, I have 20 days left.
Can I accept a CEC invitation and add PNP nomination to it later?
I have 48 weeks of definitely acceptable employment and 27 weeks that they might not accept, depending on their mood.
